Okay, I need help. Every time I upload photos from iPhoto to any photo printing/sharing site the colors all become muted and the contrast decreases. I've tried Snapfish, Shutterfly & Smugmug. We shoot in RAW with a Nikon D70. I have tried dragging photos directly from iPhoto as well as exporting to desktop as jpeg and then uploading. I suspect it is because I have edited the photos to give them a higher contrast & saturation and those get stripped off somehow in the photo site's upload. Any ideas? :confused3 Am I doomed to bad prints because I edit my photos?
Any suggestions or input would be appreciated!

Are you working on a color calibrated monitor?

If not, that what you are seeing on your screen is not accurate to what is printing at the print shops.

Oh and what the previous poster said... Mpix rocks. (Mpix is the consumer side of one of the best pro-photographer professional labs out there, Miller's. I adore my prints from Millers.)

Shutterfly and Snapfish, in my opinion, have some of the worst color management out there.
