Has any of you used a Sit and Stand stroller for at WDW? I am considering the possibility of renting one for our trip. My youngest is 2.5 and my middle child is 5. I was going to take our single stroller and just rent a stroller for my daughter if needed, but was wondering if the sit and stand option would be better. How tall of a child can be comfortable sitting on the back? My DD will just barely make the 44" rides with her shoes on. Also, I was wondering how hard it is to fold and how big and heavy it is for on the busses. Thanks for any of your thoughts on this.

We have one and it is not to big or bulky but the only reason we do not bring it to Disney or long trips is because the child in the front (normally the small one) could not recline to fall asleep if the older one is sitting or standing behind them! It is great for shorter trips or if your older one does not want to sit much.
Hope that helps.

I HATE my sit-n-stand, passionately. It's not that it isn't convienent or fullfills a need, it's hard to steer (much harder than my double, an evenflo). However, if you are only renting, it might be a good choice for you. Everyone I know who has one, hates it, but for a temporary trip it might work well for you.

Here is a fuller review, besides the hard to steer (can't stress that enough). DS4 (45" at last check which was a few months ago) can sit or stand on it very comfortably. The front seat is a bit narrow, but DS 22 months is small and will fit fine in it. It's easier to use without the tray. The front seat does not fully recline for napping either. The understorage basket is very hard to get to, but it is large. No cup holders either, had to attach the lion heart ones. Not too difficult to fold and no harder to transport than a tandem double. In the back, there is no way the older child can nap (the only reason my oldest still uses a stroller at WDW).

FYI--I have the sit-n-stand LX by Baby trend, the 2004 model

I really like mine but I won't ever take it to WDW for fear it would be stolen... It was too expensive and hard to find to part with.

A few years ago when my daughters were 2 and 6 we used our sit and stand stroller at Disney. It really worked out great for us. I must say that the 6 year old did not use it as much as I thought. She was to caught up in the magic. If we were at the mall or somewhere else she would have been complaining. At Disney she pretty much wanted to walk. :earsgirl:

I too took mine Sit & stand and never again, I was so tempted just to leave it at the parks, It fustraded me beyond belief!!! it was heavy didnt close well for the bus and was sooooo hard to steer, I actually just ended up taking a ride by myself and taking it back and rented one at the parks the double ones, my kids were comfortable and they even slept a little... I ended up giving it away to a friend and she hated it too,lol

It depends on what model you have and how heavy or bulky it is, I think its just worth a renting a single and taking an umbrella one for the older child if you have two people to help you push!!! Good Luck!!!!

I'd use separate strollers. My 5 yo ds who would not sit in a stroller for anything at home hops right in at WDW. He KNOWS how much walking is involved. Also, he generally falls asleep in his long before his 2 yo sister!!

I love my sit and stand.. I would be lost with out it. I have the newest model and the thing turns on a dime.. It doesn't recline all the way, but my DD will sleep standing up..

Great investment. Also nice at the mall. lots of storage. My DS4 is so good sitting in it. We did not take ours to WDW as I did not want it to get broken on the plane. That has happened before. We just took our small fold up one and reanted a locker. Just easier.. Also didn't have to worry about things going missing..

I used my sit and stand stroller at the parks when my boys were 2 1/2 and 4 1/2 and it worked out great. The only problem was they would fight about who got to stand. At that time my 2 1/2 wouldn't nap anyway in a stroller so reclining was not a problem with us. My stroller is an older one someone gave me. I never had a problem with pushing it. It always worked great. I never took it on the bus but, folded it right up for the monorail. I have taken on all are trips when they were younger and it alway worked out great. Good luck!
