Sister Wives

They can't afford the houses but Meri has to have a wet bar. And, of course, a library will be great for Christine.

I think the fact that they deliberately chose to build 4 separate houses rather than one large house with separate wings for the wives says a lot. They all claimed it worked in Utah, but it was not even considered when they moved to Las Vegas. I still think the women are getting tired of being in a plural marriage and just want their own lives. Let's face it, Kody is looking less and less like a "catch" these days.

I would not be surprised if they are only staying together because of the show. Their income from TLC is pretty much all they have to live on. If the marriages break up, they will have nothing. When you think about it, when was the last time they all looked happy? Robin is the only one who says she wants to keep everyone together. I honestly think this show has ruined their lives. Everyone is gettng a little too big for their britches.

........ so stay tuned next week for another episode of "reality" TV turned into "Let's watch the reality TV family spend the money they made on reality TV".

I actually enjoyed the early episodes of Jon and Kate. I watched this series more out of an odd sense of curiosity. It has been mildly interesting. But now that they are building their huge houses they never could have afforded without money from the show, I'm not sure if I'll keep watching.

At least with "Little People, Big World" I can pretend they are making money from the pumpkin farm, even if they aren't. There's just not even a good cover story for this group.

Why do they keep saying they are going to be living together again.
I saw the framing of the homes and they are huge. I just considered that they would all be in the same home again.

Not only do the wives seem to want separate lives and houses, I think 4 houses should be easier to sell when they decide to or HAVE to.

You also have to consider that most subdivisons have min & max for sq footage, and also single family vs multi family homes.

Really ... How much does TLC pay the Brown's?! ... Their finished brand new houses on tonight's episode sure looked pretty big and not exactly inexpensive ... Do they realize that in addition to their mortgages that there are utilities, taxes, insurance that also have to be paid? ... And let's not forget about food and clothing ... It also seemed like they all got new/newer cars too ... How the heck do they afford it all? ...

Meri and Mariah were so annoying in this week's episode and it looks like that's just going to continue next week :rolleyes2 Meri made a zillion changes and (based on Mona's comments from last week) didn't turn in some paperwork), what did she expect? I'll be interested in hearing Kody's comments on Meri & Mariah's relationship in next week's episode.

I thought that the contractor/builder(?)'s comments on Kody's different behavior with his different wives was very interesting.

This week's episode (like many) made me sad for Janelle. She has so much to offer as a life partner and it seems like she and Kody just don't have romantic love for each other.

I agree!! Mariah is a whiner. It really shows that Kody is really into Robin.

So did you see the preview for next week? Is Robyn announcing a pregnancy??

I am weirdly excited that the show is back.

But why do they (or the producers) keep playing up the same old story lines (e.g., Will Meri have a baby? Will they get the houses?) - they're clearly manufactured drama and the relationships and personalities are interesting enough that there's no need for for it.

I'm really curious to know what Meri meant when she said something about being concerned that the sister wives will know how each other spend their time now that they're living closer together. I'm guessing that it was directed at Christine (given that Robyn is her BFF and has a baby and the fact that Janelle seems very productive).

Robyn's desire to have everyone involved/invested in making her dream come true seems so foolish and childish. Clearly they didn't do much market research before launching the business. The jewelry is: 1) not that attractive, 2) overpriced, and 3) marketed at a very small niche audience.

When the site first came up they were also marketing purses, and clothes. I looked the other day and they no longer do this. I will ask the original question that I asked when they first started this business (and on another thread)....WHO wants to look like them? They have horrible taste in clothes.
At least they dumped the clothes and purse idea. I see CODY is going to be designing also. REALLY? I must be an idiot because stupid me thought in order to design you needed to have at least some background in sculpture and the mechanics of jewelry making. then again they just dump an idea on a producer and the company brings their idea to fruition.

Mariah gets her whining honest. Meri cries, whines at the drop of a hat. :sad1:

While you are right about this...you forget Robin. I bet she cries at Burger King Commercials. She is always turning on the waterworks and she is so goodie goodie I know it must be fake.

I found it interesting too ... What did he say? ... Something like his relationship with Janelle was business-like ... with Christine it was fun ... with Meri it was accomodating ... and with Robyn it was still in the honeymoon phase ... I think the contractor hit it pretty much right on the nose ... I still don't know what those women see in Kody, but to each their own ...

Meri & Mariah were quite whiney and annoying last night ... I  when Mariah weeped and said that "Mariah said she doesn't want any Christmas presents :sad:, she just wants to be in the house for Christmas :sad:" ... Oh please, their rental house is not that shabby ... A few more days or weeks in it won't kill them ... Maybe if Meri got all of her paperwork in sooner, like their real estate agent had asked her to, she would have gotten in sooner ... Or of course, maybe this is all just creative editing and storytelling and she actually did get into her house with the rest of them ... I'm just still curious how much they all cost ;) ...

ME too I think I noticed when they were buliding that they were using pressed board and not sheet plywood in the construction. Of course they are in LV and most likely they do not need houses that stand up to hurricanes and blizzards. I could be wrong but I am pretty sure pressed board as opposed to full sheets of plywood is a less expensive alternative that does not show.

I guess I had a little too much time on my hands today and my curiosity got the better of me because, I'm embarrassed to admit , I took a quick look for the sales prices of their homes via Clark County public records ... And all I can say is :scared1: ... I do not know much about the trend of the real estate market in Nevada, and even though I thought they probably paid a good penny for them, I didn't think they paid as much for them as they did ... Color me clueless for sure ;) ... I guess it would be a less shocking price if they bought one house, but they bought four of them?! :faint: ... And they have all those mouths to feed too! ... Oh well, bless their hearts ... I don't know how they do it ... I guess reality shows pay really, really well ... but who knew that well - except for the Kardashian's, of course ;) ... :)

I had to go back and look at their website again just for kicks. When they first started it I thought the jewelry was cheap looking and not many designs available. Now they have some pieces I like but I think it is still overpriced. I also am not interested in buying pieces that refer to their lifestyle, well say SW or Sisterwife on it. I think that for the most part by using that logo they are really limiting their pool of potential buyers.
