Sister Wives

I watched this weeks episode last night I about fell out when he talked about how him and Robyn can’t show their affection in front of people. That he can’t be with his lover in front of these other women. But he has never cared to show affection to his other wives.

IIRC the first season they explained that their rule was no affection
shown between Kody & wives in front of other wives.
I think I recall a later episode or two when they were hanging out
with another plyg family & they were all shocked that the husband
kissed both wives in front of each other.

I do remember that and he never seemed to care. But with Robyn he’s very upset by the rule now. Yet he doesn’t see how he treats her better and/or differently.

What a brat. Did she think he was going to drop her mom off at the alter than walk back and slap her? Gwen is very immature.
Do we know exactly what happened? It all seems so vague to me. I’m not making excuses for anyone but the other girls don’t seem to be afraid of him and who has not popped a sibling growing up? I’m not saying it’s right but it does happen. I have a younger brother that I just do NOT get along with, we are oil and water but it’s easy enough to keep the conversation neutral and/or keep space at a large family event. I don’t think either of us would have put my mom in the position to have to choose. It just makes me think there is something else going on, more than just one altercation.

We don't know exactly what happened. In the absence of further information, I assume it was some physical action between siblings. I'm not really shocked. Christine doesn't seem to be the sort to run a very disciplined house.

If it was something really bad, then she wouldn't have attended Logan's wedding last year with him also in attendance.

No, only that it glaringly replaced the Claddagh ring they all used to wear. I didn't catch (and the footage didn't specifically show) whether or not Robin and Meri were still wearing theirs.
I can’t remember if it was during the show or commentary on the episode by others but someone said Kody and Robyn got new rings. I don’t know if that’s true or not but if it is then they were both out a looong time ago and just waiting for all of this to happen.

If what they showed him wearing on that episode was supposed to be a new wedding ring, it was a pretty odd choice. It looked more to me like a school, team or fraternity type of thing. :confused3

Yeah, that doesn’t make sense. At this point it feels like a grudge more than anything.

He was wearing it as a wedding ring and trying to keep Meri from seeing it. If it wasn’t that why would he care if she saw it? He’s an odd duck though so who knows?

It seemed to me like he was trying to get her to see it. What made it all highly suspect was the cagey interaction between him and Robyn once it was mentioned.

I read two stories. That he smacked her and other stories say he grabbed her by the face.

Another big issue is he is absolutely the opposite than her politically.

But why be at Logan’s wedding but not your mother’s?

I’m sure they can find a way to completely avoid eachother if that’s the case.

He probably got the new ring since the other is “tarnished” since Christine left him. Him getting a new ring and not telling Meri or Janelle and the way he acted when asked about it shows that this ring is for his marriage to Robyn. Goes to show even more he doesn’t want plural marriage.

She's going to lead a very lonely life if she can't go anywhere there are people who don't agree with her politically.

So a one time thing when they were quite a bit younger. Again, not right but it does happen between siblings and generally you work it out as you grow. I am the Black Sheep in my family, the absolute polar opposite politically and religiously. You don’t rattle my chain and I won’t rattle yours. I have one Uncle who doesn’t abide by that but even he sets it aside for weddings and funerals. I’m all about avoiding toxic people even if they’re family but to skip your own mother’s wedding to make your point seems over the top.

My mom has 5 sisters. It can get crazy at times but they put it all aside for family events. It’s what grown ups do.

I have a brother. We’ve had our fights. Last time it got physical we were teenagers. It happens sometimes. Life goes on. He’s my brother. We’re good now and pretty close even though we don’t always agree on things.
