Sister Wives

Here is kind of a recap.
Well all this explains one of the hardest scenes to watch this season - Meri travelling alone in the car when her mother was in the hospital, in serious condition. Despite not being a fan of hers, I was absolutely heartbroken for her to do that alone. And watch it. With sister wives and all those adult children. I just assumed she must have wanted to be alone.

------

I could never understand all these years why no one was close to her, not even close really, worse - it was like she didn't exist in some family scenes, with the children (besides the youngest with Robyn). Alll those kids, and different personalities & there didn't seem to be any aged over a toddler/young child that had any discernable amount of affection toward her. I never understood it. It never made sense.

A few years ago they were on one of those family road trips and they were at a rest stop I think and Meri yelled at the kids. It caused a whole lot of tension and the other moms were upset about it. I remember thinking how weird that was. If they’re all moms equally what does it matter who tells the kids to knock it off? I guess now we know.

Wasn't it Gwen who recently said on Patreon video that Meri wasn't that bad. So who knows.

It was stated somewhere too that the boys could be wild (Garrison, Paedon) with rough play and mean/bully to other kids and it was Meri that would stop it not Christine and Janelle. So I think memories may vary.

There’s a huge difference between firm parenting and abuse. As the whipping post for two stepmothers I can tell you that my siblings would tell you they weren’t that bad but it’s because they weren’t the ones who experienced it. He said Robyn “saved their lives.” That sounds like more than discipline to me. And let’s not forget that Meri admits to being at least emotionally abusive to Janelle and Christine. Lots of the older kids want nothing to do with Meri so there’s *something* there.

i think she's moving too fast. she JUST started dating in january and was asking people on her instagram for dating advice within the past few weeks. i think she will jump into a marriage far too quickly b/c despite saying she's left the church it's hard if not impossible to quickly leave that moral mindset. kody was her one and only-dating, sex...she needs to take time and take things slowly.

I agree. I also think she could do better. Although I'm not a big fan of hers in general.

I don't think she needs to do "better". She just needs to find someone who will lover her with the same intensity she loves them. No idea if this is that guy. But I agree it's too fast.

I have not historically been a huge Christine fan, but I am now after seeing how Kody treated her, and how she was there for her kids when they needed her most. I wish nothing but the best for her.

My concern was her putting her new guy and life on the internet right away.
I mean, didn't she learn anything from filming her show?
I would think she would want to protect her young daughter
after all they've been through, moving recently, starting new life, etc.
Seems like a big risk to show and tell the world after she only
just started dating him.

I think she felt like she didn't have much of a choice but to share her news. In something that I read she said that they wouldn't go out in public for fear of being seen. I think she announced it so it was on her terms and so they don't have to stay in hiding.

It has been over a year since she left Kody. Sometimes when you are not looking for it love seems to find you. Everyone moves on in their own time. She looks so happy so I am happy for her.

I read somewhere that Mykelti stated she’s been dating/knowing him for about a year and they started a serious relationship/became exclusive in December.

She told Kody she wanted a divorce around May 2021? She moved in November 2021. Mentally and physically she (or Kody) have been done with that marriage for years.

I don’t think she’s moving too fast. To us it may look like it’s all sudden but this has been in motion for years. As do most divorces.

I remember that scene, too. But I remember it being about some of the kids picking on some of the younger kids, maybe Robyn's just after the wedding?, and I rememnber Meri telling them "these are your brothers and sisters whether you like it or not!!!"

I remember Christine and Janelle being slightly uncomfortable but I think the comment they made was they didn't necessarily think it needed to be handled right then, preferring to handle it away from the cameras is the impression I got. I don't recall them having an issue with what was said so much as that itw as said in front of the cameras.

Also, I imagine she perhaps stayed with Kody much longer than she should have attempting to make it work and she probably went through some of the mourning period before she even left. It seems fast to us because in TV time she just left Kody a couple months ago when in reality it was over a year ago. That really isn't fast.
