Sister Wives

Anyone watch tonight's episode? What did you think of the other polyg family?
They reminded me of The Borg from Star Trek, compared to them the Brown women seem totally liberated!

I thought the way the teenage boys talked about their dad was sort of concerning. If I were the Browns, I don't think I'd be so quick to want to marry my kids into that family.

I agree. Seems like dad is the dictator and the wives are second class citizens. I also didn't like how they kept trying to convince the Browns that their way is right. They MUST share a kitchen. They definitely had the " holier than thou" kind of preaching thing.

I didn't get what the big deal was with the kitchen, were they saying it was a family togetherness thing or something? And what about every other room in the house?

After that episode I actually appreciated Kody a tiny bit more, at least he doesn't appear to force his wives to act like a mindless collective, it looks like they do attempt to make decisions jointly. That other dude assigned seats, even for the wives :(!!

As much as I find having sister wives, as they are called a little strange, I find having, a real life blood sister being a sister wife even more disturbing. That other family REALLY creeped me out.

remember that one of the other families sons said he wasnt going to have multiple wives ...he said it wasnt going to be his thing..
And the other family are all controlling...
I dont like kody or his way of thinking ...but he almost seemed normal last night...but not enough for me to think he is Gods Gift to women....

I'm thought that Joe guy was beyond controlling.

Why does Meri want a wet bar so bad she doesn't even drink:confused3

I was impressed that Janelle was trying to save money by getting less rooms.

I also like Janelle didn't want a mission statement. Does any family have a mission statement???

I wish Janelle would say enough for me.

Yeah I totally don't get Meri and her excessive demands for a house. I'm sure we all would like big homes with extra rooms and a wet bar (which at my house would be treated with the respect it deserves not used for juice and tea!) but you have to get what you can afford. She's just a big illogical emotional mess, I get tired of her crying every episode.

Janelle seems so level headed, how does she stand this drama?

I also found it disturbing how Joe was physically hanging all over multiple women at the same time. Honestly me and DH aren't even that physical in public! I was grossed out, what a jerk! You know he's a tool when he makes Kody Brown seem like a better choice!

This! In my mind that's crossing a line that is best not crossed.

The Brown wives were trying to convey that they were not defined who they were by each having their own kitchen. Meri brought up the subject of decorating each of their homes or their own kitchen. I think Meri was trying to say, that they are each individuals, with different taste's and the Browns were trying to say, "it shouldn't matter, it is just a kitchen."

I could not imagine my sister being my sister-wife and our kids being half-siblings and cousins at the same time.

Youj are right...when Kody seems to be the better choice that says a LOT.

:thumbsup2 Yes, I agree about Mary. Her crying is getting old. It seems her daughter has the same set of emotions.. Janelle does seem very level headed and a couple of her kids that they show a lot seem to also be that way.

Very weird! I can't imagine myself and one of my sisters being married to the same man  Next weeks episode looks VERY interesting!

I liked the scene at the beach where Jenelle was standing next to him while he was getting all PDA. She'd look at them out of the corner of her eye, then look away, then glance back, see that they were still at it, and look away again. She was so obviously uncomfortable.

I can't remember the name of the other family but Stepford Wives comes to mind!!!

I'm willing to bet Big Joe has his wives on a pretty strict diet/exercise program. Weekly weigh-ins would not at all surprise me.

OMG, as crazy and sad as that sounds; I agree with you. The thing that I found really nuts was the fact that Merri was acting like she would like Kody to be more like that. Jenelle was kinda making fun of Joe saying "don't tell me we're leaving at 9:00, and then not leave til 10:00..." I thought Merri was going to agree with her, but she did the complete opposite. She said that's someone that she could be married to and then kept saying little things about how much she liked him:crazy2: Honestly, I was kinda shocked, and it was so weird. Don't get me wrong, I'm all for promptness, but the whole thing was just so weird.

I also thought it was so sad how the kids were talking about him. With the exception of the one boy who said poly wasn't for him, the rest of them acted like Joe was God and that they worshiped the ground he walked on, and like he was superior to their mom(s). :sad2:

Ok, so I'm about half way thru the book (Becoming Sister Wives) that was mentioned here, and have come to the conclusion that Meri is just a plain out b---h. Now Janelle is my favorite, lol.

I have not read the book but I figure Merri figures she was here first and she had more rights. I am pretty sick of her baby thing. Honest to gosh....really?

I have not read this whole thread but WHERE do they did they get the money?
