They believe in being covered from nape of the neck to the elbows, so they layer their tops. I wouldn't wear a tank top by itself, either, but I am also not a fan of layering like that.

I'm the same age as Meri, and in the late 70's early 80's this was a popular way to wear clothes. I don't layer tank tops, but I've been layering t-shirts, or v-neck t-shirts that are cut so low. Plus shirts are so see-through now too.

I hate the way they wear the long sleeves under the tank top. I don't have a problem with the reason being modesty...just that it's ugly. I work with a 20 year old Muslim girl who dresses really cute and fashionable while still being modest.

We were in Las Vegas over the weekend and on the plane on the way home I thought about this show and told DH, "hey, we could have ran into the Sister Wives" and he laughed and said, "yeah, I thought about that".

Just watched last week's episode. I felt horrible for their friends. It was obvious that they were totally in love and didn't want another wife in the mix, but their religion says they have too. I know these people were raised to believe this, but I am madly in love with my husband and can't imagine how sad I would be to sit home while he was out "courting" someone else. They already had 6 kids too...I would think that would be hard to spring that on the kids too.

Totally agree with you. They were holding hands and I don't know how to describe it but you could tell they had a closeness that Kody does not have with his wives. I know they show him with his arm around a wife and a kiss, but it was not the same. It was sad seeing them trying to justify it but not having the heart for it. Like when the husband was saying he would feel bad about his wife going to bed alone.
I really love my husband and have no desires to be married to someone else. I think this is how they feel.

I've always wondered how this all works with her ex husband. What is his opinion on the environment his kids are being raised in? Maybe he was a child of plural mariage himself.I don't know, just curious.

I just watched the newest episode where a couple from their church in Utah is visiting. It just sickened me that they( the couple) both thought they should find another wife for the family b/c it was the "truth" and the right thing to do. You could tell their hearts really weren't in it and even Christine said they weren't ready. It just seemed like they were raised in and belonged to this church, but they couldn't bring themselves to practice the beliefs. They were in their late 30s and had 6 kids, it seems late to be bringing in a sister wife for the first time. Can you imagine how the wife would feel? Even the husband said he felt strange thinking about courting another woman while married. That's because you're making the wrong decision and it isn't the right thing to do to your wife.

This episode just really bothered me.

I felt sadness for the couple! I think they need to run for the hills and find a new religion!!!!!!!!!!

I was very surprised that Robyn showed that much skin during and after the delivery. Personally, I didn't have a problem with anything but they are always covered so it was certainly a deviation for the show.

Yeah, the surrogate thing surprised me, too.

I was too. I was shocked they showed her belly at the apt with her midwives and REALLY shocked during delivery and after. Maybe It's different because it was having a baby and not like dressing to bring attention to yourself?

There is no way I could be a sister wive, having other women tell me what an awesome labor coach my husband is would not be something I could deal with.

Not me, I think Robyn is creepy and weird. This isn't out of kindness, it's a way to raise her "position" over Meri.

I think it would be okay for Meri and Robyn but I dont think Christine would handle it very well. I almost wish the show was done 6 months ago so we would be closer to finding out updates! It's gonna be a long wait!
