Sister Wives, anyone???

awesome news about Soloman's arrival!

I, for one, am really addicted to watching this show. I am Episcopal and have one husband and 4 kids. But for some reason, I find this show intriguing. Perhaps I am trying to figure out just HOW they make it work. Perhaps it is because I don't know anyone who personally is a polygamist. I don't know - but I generally enjoy the show. As obnxious as Kody is, I find it entertaining to watch him.

I loved the episode a few weeks back where they went back to his home town and his high school friends were telling him like it is! LOL. And I loved how the one girl said, "Kody always had to be the center of attention on everything, so I figured his conversion to polygamy was just that... he had to be the center of attention for his wives." I thought the comments and feedback they all received were pretty darn funny.

Anyway, I like all of them for the most part. I do feel sorry for Robyn sometimes and wonder why she ever entered into the chaos. But, to each his own!:rotfl:

I know Wiki isn't "official", but here's what it had to say about the kids' ages and dates of "marriages", etc.

As of the September 2010 debut, Kody has been married to Meri for 20 years, Janelle for 17 years, and Christine, who is the homemaker, for 16 years. Kody and Meri have a 15-year-old daughter named Mariah. Kody and Janelle have six children: daughters Madison (15) and Savanah (6) and sons Logan (16), Hunter (14), Garrison (12), and Gabriel (9). Kody and Christine have six children: daughters Aspyn (15), Mykelti (14), Gwendlyn (9), Ysabel (7), and Truely (1) and son Paedon (12). Robyn had three children from her first marriage, which was monogamous: Dayton (12), Aurora (9) and Breanna (7). Meri, Christine and Robyn were all raised in polygamist families, but Janelle was not. On April 9, 2011, Robyn confirmed to People magazine that she is pregnant and due in mid-October 2011. On Wednesday, October 26, 2011, Kody and Robyn Brown welcomed their first child together...

My DVR listing for Sunday's episode says that Breanna and Ysabel move in with Meri temporarily. Has anyone seen previews that hint why?

The previews that I've seen do show some drama over the kids. Meri was involved in the preview.

I think Robyn says something along the lines of ...my kids are only here as long as they're happy. If they're not happy, they will go back.

I'm assuming that her statement has something to do with her divorce/custody agreement.

Christine is my favorite, personality-wise, but I cannot stand the names of her kids! Truely is cute, but she should be arrest for gratuitous use of the letter Y.

When is the show on? I watched the first season, but had not heard it returned. I just saw the CNN article above about the baby and it said they live in 4 different houses. Wasn't the premise last year about how they all depended on one another and they had one big happy home?

It comes on Sunday nights on TLC. And tonight TLC is airing Sunday's re-run.

Janelle may not have been raised in a polygamist family, but I could swear her mother was married to Kody's father...as the 2nd wife. Am I remembering wrong? (wouldn't be the first time...)

No, you are right. Which I believe makes Kody his own brother-in-law.:rotfl:
That's not even counting the fact that Janelle is his ex-sister-in-law.

No, you're right! I guess she converted to FLDS after Janelle was married to Kody?

Actually I think it her (janelle's) mom joined Kody's parents in FDLS prior to him...I also think I remember Meri saying something in the Iowa episode where she thought he was so cute even tho he wasn't part of her church(FDLS) that she might have to be monogomous to get him!

At that point I think Janelle was married to Meri's brother or had divorced him not long before... and Meri brought her into the circle with Kody and herself. I thought it was hysterical how Kody said "Keep it all in the family" to his best friend's family because the brother married a sister who was sil to another family member or something. Irony!

 Is there going to be a quiz on this?

Kody seems to be a wimp with the kids. I see why Meri was mad tonight and his comment that he would have said something if Meri had not irritated me.

Say something anyway! You are the Dad!

I really feel sorry for the kids after tonight's episode.

Part of the reason I tune into this show is because this family seems to be a contradiction to the general view of polygomy. They are relatively normal. That surprised me and fueled my interest.

Today's episode distrubed me, though. Robyn and Christine just let their daughters move into Meri's house? They didn't even seem slightly upset about their kid wanting to live with another woman. Does anyone else find that strange? Christine even seemed happy to be getting rid of her problem kid. :confused3 So odd. I can see if they were all still in the "Big House" and one wanted to move into Meri's wing of the house it might be a tiny bit different. Or even if the other mom lived down the street (that would still bug me, but at least they are within easy walking distance). But doesn't Meri live furthest from the other wives? Like a mile away? Would you be comfortable letting your 8 year old move into someone else's house a mile away from you? And they acted like it was no big deal, nothing strange about it. They just kissed them goodbye and left them there! I have a 9 year old and I'd never, ever do that. Even if I were divorced and he wanted to go live with his own father a mile away, I'd be devasated! I'd cry and miss him to death. I can't imagine my baby not living with me. Maybe I'm the weird one but that really, really bothered me.
