OK, Last Saturday I broke down and bought a Satellite radio. I went with the Sirius because I like football more than Nascar (Nascar on the radio is just wrong...) At any rate, I got it to my office and tried to use it. I can't get a signal in most of the place. I do however get the "Included" internet feed (which I can't use while others are there becaus of bandwidth limitations)

XM makes you buy a second radio and hook it to your computer ($6 a month), but several people in my office have XM and it works great.

The people in the store tell me that in my car the Sirius will work fine, they sold a bunch and don't have any problems...yada yada...

Tomorrow I am scheduled to get the car kit installed. Should I exchange the radio for an XM? it is more expensive and the sales clerk did a good job of explaining to me why I would like the sirius better; better traffic reports in my area, and the better sports....

I am in a quandry... I am fairly sure I will keep the sirius, but I want my friends and technical experts on the Dis's opinion.....

Thanks for your input....

So what did you end up doing? :D

Well, by the overwhelming response I figured it wasn't a topic of interest...
;)

I had the Sirius installed, and am going to take a road trip this weekend to see how well it works on the road. I like the sirius unit, it is a little bigger but I can read the screen. I think the XM is prbably a little better unit, but I like the free internet feed option...

IOW, I am staying wiyj the sieius ubless it seriusly messes up on the road this weekend....unless you can give me a better reason to go XM

thanks for asking....

I dont know if this is too late, but stay with Sirius. I had XM for over a year, and while I liked some of the stations, I wasn't blown away by it. I eventually cancelled it.

Fastforward to a few months ago, my best friend bought a head unit with the Sirius tuner and he's recently gotten the service hooked up. He says it blows XM out of the water. Neither of us had reception issues in the car...its never gone out, even in a storm.

Good luck!

Thanks allison. I don't really need it, but I think it will be good for the long drives to visit my inlaws...

Again, I am keeping the sirius unless there are any major issues with it...
