Sippy cup scandal. Best tips for traveling with/wo kids

OK, I get it. She behaved badly and had it coming. The police only gave her what she deserved for not going along with the program and making a scene.
We'll just ignore the TSA person holding up the wall, the other TSA person signaling people to stop then waving at them like they are kids, or the person who grabs the perp by the arm and won't let her go. that's all a long way from a police officer who squirts his siren and goes, "Yo, your lights."
You know, I was in Shop Rite today and heard "spill in ailse 3 . . . cleanup to aisle 3." Someone dropped a jar of spagetti sauce . . . the store management didn't try to affix blame or post it on the web, they just cleaned it up.
Yeah, she made a scene and by golly, she deserved to have the full weight of the TSA come down on her . . . never mind what they also post on their web site:
Security that is Professional - Service that delivers positive lasting impressions with proper image and effective communications.
Security with Customer Service - Service is efficient while maintaining the dignity of all passengers.
Security that is Attentive - Service that acknowledges the passenger strives to minimize passenger anxiety and put them at ease.
Security that Encourages Teamwork - Service of the highest quality resulting from combined individual efforts.
Security that Protects Civil Rights - Service that is delivered with respect and equity.

Bye Bye

Since the TSA pretty much ignores ALL of your effective measures perhaps you should focus on that... Making a woman clean up her OWN mess is NOT IMHO a violation of her civil rights. NOTHING in the TSA statement gives you or I the right to treat them like dirt. Everyone KNOWS I despise the TSA. That does not give me the right to THROW trash at them, does it??? NO!! It does not give me the right to be RUDE to them, does it??? That does not give me the RIGHT to delay ALL of my fellow passengers because "it's beneath me to clean up my own mess????

Do you wander around the world littering and assuming that "someone will clean up after me?" I guess if you liter the thing the cops should do is just ARREST you. I mean asking you to pick up your mess to AVOID arrest is a violation of your civil rights. How dare they?? They should just haul you to jail! :rotfl:

And the next time you miss you plane because the security line is CLOSED due to a liquid spill, you won't complain will you? I mean after all it's fine for ONE person to disrupt the travel plans of hundreds isn't it??

I consider myself fairly liberal. I find the TSA to be huge issue and have complained often and loudly to my elected officals. That said I don't think that asking you to clean up after yourself is a violation of your civil rights. Asking people to respect others is NOT a bad thing!

Tip #1- pick your battles with the TSA. Most times it is much easier to just do what they ask without uttering a sound. There are many TSA agents that just love to ruin your day.

You can tell who flies often. They are the ones emptying pockets, taking off belts and shoes, taking laptop out of case before they ever hit the counter at the security checkpoint.

Until I got my Clear Card I always got stuck behind the family that must have never gone through security before.

I impress to family members traveling to be organized when they get to the airport.

Just because you don't know the rules for liquids and gels doesn't mean you get to yell at the TSA agent or you didn't allow enough time to get checked in at the ticket counter and get through security. It's your job as fliers to know what the rules are before you fly.

heh.. i once saw this elderly woman argue with the TSA at checkpoint because she refused to take her jewelry off for the metal detector.

Bye Bye

The "spill on aisle 3" probably wasn't deliberate and store management probably didn't view it as being deliberate. I'm guessing store management would have affixed blame if a person was throwing spaghetti sauce on the floor on purpose and would have taken a different approach to the situation.:confused3

Sheesh! If any government agency wanted her jewelry they'd just have the IRS get it for them!!;)
