Finally went to the Dr today after a week of feeling yucky. Basically self diagnosed and she prescribed antibiotics:rolleyes:

Anyone else getting sick with the changing of seasons?

I don't have a sinus infection, but my fall allergies are horrible this year. I'm losing sleep at night because of my sinuses being congested. I called the doctor today and asked for Flonase (that's what she usually gives me when my allergies get bad) and I hope it's ready for pick up soon.

I hope you feel better soon! :wizard:

I can't tell you how much salt water helps. Dissolve salt in warm water and pour through your sinuses - it will help immensely! Check out Neti Pots on the web - they are life savers.

I think those were on Oprah once. I get a sinus infection usually 1-2 times every year...maybe I will check them out.

Thanks Pixiedust34, hope you get some sleep!!

I don't know if I have allergies or if I have a 24 bug. I didn't feel great yesterday and I couldn't sleep at all last night.

My throat was killing me I was totally congested but I also had not chest pain but discomfort and achy all over. I went to work for a meeting but left at 2 because I had a fever and didn't want to give it to anyone else.

Got some tylenol cold which did give me rest and relief but now, my head is till pounding and still congested. :sad1:

Luckily mine didn't move to my chest nor do I have a fever...Hope you feel better soon!

1-2 times a year? Count yourself lucky.
My first one of the season started Labor Day, went away two weeks after with a double dose of Zithromax, and is back again. Ugh! I get my flu shot and my adenoids were removed years ago, but I still average at least 15 doctors appointments every winter. It's annoying.
Hope you feel better soon!

I work for a dr and we are seeing alot of sinus infections and bronchitis.

Thankfully I'm not sick but I sure feel for you!! (and all the others who are sick!).

I get terrible sinus infections about 2x a year. It's just awful--I loose my voice for like a week, feel like I can't breathe, bed rest, bleck. I hope you feel better soon!! pixiedust:

 Me  ! I think I have one as well; won't find out until Thursday, when I go to my first allergist appointment. I'm also dealing with an upper respiratory infection b/c of my allergies and sinuses  :headache:

Yes, I agree with other posters who stated saline solutions work wonders! Also, I went to a natural herb store and they recommended grapefruit seed extract! A small bottle of the stuff cost about $12.00 and has a shelf life of 10 years!:) I mix a little bit with water and use that in the nose. You don't want to drink the stuff because it's very bitter.

Some of the antibiotics the doctors prescribe (if you have allergies to penicillen) have terrible side affects.

Now I drink lots of water and use the grapefruit seed extract solution and I rarely suffer with sinus trouble!:goodvibes

I live in Florida.

I don't have seasons, other than early summer, hot summer, late summer & not-quite-so-hot-before-early summer.

:rotfl: I live in FL too but when it drops to about 70 degrees, you can bet I'll get sick.

LOL rub it in!! I'm in bed for the second day in a row. Hoping these antibiotics kick in soon!!

This product is amazing. I have had a number of Dr.'s say that this would prevent so many sinus infections from developing if you use it at the first hint of stuffiness. My kids even use it. It is better than the Netti Pot, which is also made by this Co. I bought my set at Costco, but many drug stores carry them.

Yes, I suffered with my sinus infection for two weeks before seeing the doctor. I tried to tough it out. I'm on my antibiotic and feeling much better now.

My main symptom is the feeling of malaise. I felt depresseed and feverish even though I don't have a fever.

Those things are terrible. :headache:
