Sinus Headache in Walmart?

This is such a weird, specific question.

Every time I have gone into Walmart (multiple Walmart's in our area) in the past year or two, my sinuses start burning and my eyes start watering and it lasts the entirety of the time I'm in there. It clears when I go outside. This doesn't happen in any other store. There isn't any specific smell that is perceptible to me, but I wonder if there is a certain chemical being used. Anyone else have this or is it just me? lol

I think it is very possible... I would assume corporate assigns a certain product for them to use. Call me crazy, but it seems to me that stores like Walmart etc... all have their own smell no matter where you go. It's like they could blindfold you and put you in certain stores and you could identify that store by the smell.

Not at Walmart. I can’t stand the smell of Best Buy. The plastic odors drive me nuts, and I only go in to one if there simply is no other option.

That happens to me when I walk down the aisle with cleaning products. I think it’s a chemical reaction.

I get a migraine in Home Goods because of their lighting. I wear a visor in there and then it’s okay.
Could be the lighting. If a smell, maybe wear your COVID mask.b

For me: At Walmart, no reaction, but the cleaning aisle at the Dollar Tree, yes. I think it's all those cheapo ingredients and excessive scents.

The store might be using strong cleaners/disinfectants on the floors. Might try a different time of day since perhaps you might have been there right after they did a periodic cleaning.

Could be they have had a spill of some kind and those places have the worst ventilation because literally no windows & fresh air?

I'll also chime in on lighting being a thing.

I don't have a Walmart near me so I don't go enough to notice that, but that happens to me in or near the laundry aisle of nearly every store I enter. Smells can definitely irritate your sinuses if you are sensitive and for some people scents can trigger migraines and cleaners usually have some kind of fragrance so maybe it's something they are using routinely on the floors or something?
