Singulair users

Actually, Singulair is not an antihistamine. It is a leukotriene blocker and is used for allergies and for asthma, or both. Just wanted to mention that since it has been assumed a couple of times in this thread this Singulair is an antihistamine.

People are often put on an antihistamine (e.g. Zyrtec, Claritin, Allegra, Xyzal, Benadryl) plus Singulair, but that is because antihistamines and leukotriene blockers work differently physiologically in regards to the allergic response.

Thanks I was getting ready to post this too.

I got generic Zyrtec the other day (a sale) at Walgreens. B1G1F. I bought the 120 pills at $34.99 and 120 pills free. that is 240 days for $34.99 or 15 cents per day.

That's the combo I'm on and it works GREAT!!!

DD's asthma Dr. told us to use the generic Zyrtec from Sam's Club.

I started buying that too and it really does work well.

Yes, this is true. Ds's allergist told us to use Zyrtec throughout the year as needed to keep ds's allergies at bay so he wouldn't have asthma flare-ups. He uses pulmicort daily to control it but during allergy season he needs something more. In the spring when his allergies are at his absolute worst he wants to put him on Singulair but to still use the Zyrtec and the pulmicort.

BTW - My DD also gets allergy shots. I actually hate the fact that she is on so much medication & getting shots so frequently. I just wish it wasn't necessary, but everything does help.

We were in WDW last week. Got home on Wednesday. On Thursday she had appointments with her ped & asthma Dr. They both said her lungs were the clearest they have ever been. Said the warm weather probably has something to do with it.

I sure with I could just up & relocate to someplace warm!!! Not only for her, but for so many other reasons, including just being warmer in the winter.
