Single traveling with multiple kids

Like most things, I'm sure this has been covered here before, but the search function of this site stinks, so here goes.

I'm planning a trip for next August with my two daughters - they'll be 6 and 3. I've been planning this trip for a couple of years and it was always supposed to be the four of us, but now I'm single. I'd like to go ahead with the trip anyway - I deserve it and the kids definately deserve it. I think I'll ask my parents to join us because that would be a lot more fun and I could use the help on vacation with two kids. But I'll go without them if they decide not to go.

So, what sort of issues does the single parent face? My biggest fear is keeping track of two little girls in those crowds. I'm thinking I'll bring the double stroller, even though the 6 yo will be a little old to be in a stroller. I'm thinking if I brought a single stroller for the 3 yo, her big sister would end up pushing her out of it.

And thoughts on this and thought and suggestions for other challenges I'll face, traveling as a single parent?

I'm sure you'll enjoy yourselves. With only 2 hands to chase after and gather up 4 little feet, the stroller will be a must everywhere you go. Anything you can do to keep them together will be great - I suggest you mention to you 6yo that she's your most important helper in making sure you don't loose her little sister.

Breaks are extremely important & under-valued by too many Disney visitors with small children. Don't expect the 3 yo to be the perfect angel you know & love when she starts getting tired - just be prepared for the blowups & ready to say - OK - back to the room for a rest even if you've been in the park for just 2 hours It all works out & you'll enjoy yourself so much more when you accept the need for some down time.

I urge you to look into renting a studio DVC unit at WL/BC/BW .. and hopefully even BLT. The kitchenette is invaluable with kids of all ages & a big money saver for picky eaters. You'll have great locations so you can take the boat transports/walk or monorail to the parks. Locations are quiet and rooms are good sized. Although beautiful, with a stroller, I don't suggest OKW or SSR unless you'll have your own vehicle as you'll be on buses for all transportation needs.

One more thought - Direct flights! Less hassle, no lost luggage... well... hopefully.
