DH & I don't care if we sit together on a ride. So I was wondering which rides have a single rider line. We were able to get a lot done a Universal Orlando going this way.

In DL: Matterhorn, Indy, Splash
In DCA: RSR, Screamin', Goofy's Sky School, Grizzly, Soarin'

I have heard that the Soarin' single rider often doesn't save a lot of time. I have observed quite a number of times when the Goofy's single rider line wasn't open. RSR can be pretty variable; I saw 45 minutes when I stopped by during one of my holiday visits but walked right on once during a busy summer afternoon.

I did Indy yesterday. They sent 8 of us in the elevator together, and when I got off the ride, 2 were still waiting. FP would have been faster for them. It was kind of a crap shoot. I was second in line, but by the time we had gone through the elevators I was third and the girl who had been first was fourth. I would still do single rider, as I doubt there would have been 8 if the line had been shorter, so the odds were still good.

I think FP is a better option than SR for Soarin (always) and Indy (most of the time).

Our favorite SRs are Matterhorn & GRR. We did Matterhorn during EMH & as the park was opening & rode it at least 3 times. I waited a total of no more than 5 mins that morning. Once I walked straight on #VIPmoment there! We have lots of success with GRR SR mid afternoon & tend to ride it twice before returning to the hotel.

When we were at Disneyland in July 2015, it was possible for either single riders or pairs to enter through the exit of the Monsters Inc ride (you had to talk to the employee at the entrance first, I can't recall if the employee handed out a pass of some sort). Does anyone know if this is still offered?

it was a buddy pass. we got them when we were there a couple months ago, but we didn't ask for them. the cast member at entrance to monster's inc asked if it was just the two of us and handed us the pass. i think they said it was something they were testing out. we haven't been offered one since then. i never thought to ask for one though.

For Grizzly, once you're on the ramp down to the seating area, listen to the CMs calling out for singles or doubles. Doesn't help you when you first get into line, but it can get you in a raft a minute or two faster! :)

My favorite single rider line was RSR. We rode it at least eight times on my last trip and most times the wait was less than 15 minutes, when the stand-by was up to 90 minutes.

I had great luck on my last trip doing SR for Indy and RSR. Screamin was terrible, though. I waited almost as long as standby once. I believe they only had one coaster going at that time, though.

RSR Single rider is literally hit and miss and you do not know until you are in there. I usually ask a Single Rider how long they waited if they get paired with my group. I have seen everything from a 45min Single Rider wait on a 60min standby time to a 12min wait on a 150min standby time

I tried single rider in splash last month for the first time and I waited about 45 minutes when stand by was 50. The guys working the line kept shouting out for parties of 2 or 3 and they took them from the standb line from even pretty far back. It was like they were trying as hard as possible not to use the single riders. That 45 minute wait was from a single ride line of no more than 18 people. What a crap shoot. Never again.

Funnily enough I had been to universal the day before and I was practically on to Harry Potter and the forbidden journey as a single rider. Wizarding world was in soft opening and very popular and they still beat disney for getting the line through hands down. Seems like Disney could take a page from universals book on how to make single riders work.

Hi,

I did single rider for RSR quite a few times on Wednesday and Thursday and never waited more than 10 minutes ( it may be worse in the afternoon). Quite a few families and couples are now using it also ( on the condition that they are split up). The worst I saw was the line going to the umbrella for fast pass and single riders.

I took a FP for Soaring and single riders did not seem to do as well. I was at the back of the line and it took a couple of cycles to get to the front of the line and into the gate area and the single rider line did not move. As I passed them by one of them said if it would be worthwhile to move to the other line to a CM (not sure of the outcome)

I can remember doing it on RSR, Soarin, and Matterhorn but I'm sure there were others. At Matterhorn I think I waited longer than the regular line. It saved lots of time at RSR though.

We were given one today for the first time and have been here often as AP holders. The CM just asked if it was just the two of us and we waited maybe 5-7 minutes versus the 25 posted. I would never specifically ask but it was very nice !

Weird! I guess this one must be a crap shoot, because every time I go, I always end up riding Splash 2-3 times a day, specifically BECAUSE of the single rider line...heck, sometimes I even count on it
