Hiya all -
I'm new to Dis boards - great forum here for Disney & Universal!

I've making a business trip to Orlando in August and arranged to give myself a day off the day before the meeting. I've been to all of the main WDW parks and thought this might be a good time to preview USF/IOA for a future family trip instead of returning to the mouse.

Anywho, I've heard that IOA has single rider lines that can be used to shorten some of the waits. I'm balking a bit at the Express Pass ticket ($37.28 online for the day I'm planning to go) - when added to the normal ticket price, it comes to over $100 for a single day at the park. I'm staying at the Doubletree at the park entrance - the official Univeral hotels don't accept govt. perdiem rates ($99). So, anyone have any additional info?

Thanks!!

I would never buy the express pass plus. Just use the free express pass that are found in the kiosks near each ride. It works just like Disney's fast pass. Scan your admission pass and pick a return time form the two choices listed. You can get another pass within two hours or when your express pass return time occurs, whichever comes first.

Single rider lines are avialable for many attaractions depending on if the lines are long. At IoA, Hulk, Spiderman, Dudley, Dr. Doom, and Jurassic Park often have them especially during the summer months. At Universal, MIB and Mummy have a single rider line almost always open. I may have left out some attractions with single rider.

If you hit the parks early and hit the big rides, you won't have any wait. The parks don't get busy until closer to 11:00 AM. Even though it officially opens at 9:00 AM, the parks usually open 15-30 minutes early so be at the gates by 8:30 AM.

Thanks for the quick response phamton,
btw, do the express passes you get at the kiosks expire? When I've been to WDW and used their Fastpasses, I discovered that they don't expire - I routinely used passes hours after the time printed on the ticket.

It depends on the employee. Most of the times, it isn't a problem but sometimes they won't let you use them. The same thing happens at WDW. You'll get a few castmembers even at WDW that won't let you you use expired passes.

You do have a grace period of 30 mins. If your ticket window is 215-315, you're allowed to show up at 342 and still be fine. If you come at 4p, you might be directed to the regular/singles line. If the ride is down for whatever reason, the expiration time is dismissed and you can use it at any time that day.
