Single rider lines?

EE is the only truly awesome single rider line. If you are efficient you can get 12-15 rides in in an hour. Test Track is not bad but can get very backed up.

RnR is a mixed bag in my experience. Sometimes it is great. Other times it is not.
Agreed. I once rode EE ten times in a row. Walked off the ride, walked through the single rider line and pretty much right back on (this was during COVID so lines were shorter in general). Bless the CM who told me about the single rider line, she then kept seeing me walk by and then when I said I wanted to go ten times in a row the CMs started cheering me on.

Test Track is hit or miss-sometimes I've pretty much walked on, other times it takes longer. I think it's still shorter than whatever the standby line is, though.

Glad to hear, as my family does not want to ride EE and I really do, so I'll be riding single rider! Hoping not to leave them waiting for me for too long!

So - what about rides that do NOT have dedicated single rider lines? Do they pull people out of the queue? My family does not want to ride Guardians or Tron and I'm hoping this will help? I've never ridden so have no idea you wait in line (for LL or ILL)

If things are still the same. Ride CMs are rated based on actual through-put vs theoretical through-put. When a CM needs a single or double to finish a grouping they will call out and guide those needed to fill in spaces. The busier the ride, the more aggressive they are on doing this.

I did get annoyed when I was using my ILL for FOP as a solo and got moved off to the side and had a CM fill the entire next group and completely skipped me. I looked at her and said I paid 14 dollars to be in this line, you are not skipping me again.

That's an interesting bit of info about how Ride CMs are rated. I never knew that, but it makes sense.

And somebody mentioned Soarin recently. I heard that they were testing SR line for Soarin earlier this year, but in April when I asked a CM about it, they mentioned that it wasn't currently an option. I guess it wasn't working well enough for them to bring it back after testing it.

Yes, though usually not until you're close to boarding. It won't save you a ton of time in line but it might help. If you're close to wherever they board for a ride, you'll hear the CMs sometimes ask for a party of a particular size (usually one or two people). If you're the first one to raise your hand, the CM will ask you to come through the line to fill the space. I can't speak specifically to GotG or Tron, but it's happened to me on other rides (as a solo rider) many times-most notably Tower of Terror and Soarin'.

I just remembered.

In general at Guardians they separate odd and even parties in the two lines just before boarding.

Tron also has the same line setup but I didn’t notice them being as aggressive about separating odd and even parties. Though out of the 4 times I’ve rode Tron 3 of them had no pre show because the lines were moving so fast.

Great tips above -
adding:

TT SR skips the design a car portion so If you want to design a car and ride SR on TT go through the exit first and use a design a car kiosk here, save to MB or card and then go to the SR entrance. Tap your MB or card at boarding to see how your car compares!
This never occurred to me before so thanks for the tip
Someone said that "Soarin" sometimes uses a single rider line. Is that true? Unfortunately, whenever I'm there, the only time they ask for a single rider is the very rare occasion when they've miscounted and have an extra seat! And I think that's only happened about 3 times in over 50 rides.

Soarin' used to have a single rider line and they closed it many years ago. I think they tested it again in the last year or so.
Soarin & TSMM had single rider pre their third theater/track being added

No dedicated line but like PPs have mentioned they will pull singles and duos at times if space filling is needed

A few notes/caveats:

1) Unlike the true single rider lines, the single rider shortcut at Space actually requires you to be a party of one to use it and the signage reflects that language. No splitting up your group to jump in it.

2) MF:SR single rider line skips the pre-show with Hondo and you will get stuck as Engineer 99% of the time, if either of those things are important to you. I wish someone had warned me before my first time on the ride.

3) RNRC single rider is rarely if ever worth bothering with. Maybe that will change when it comes back but that line usually moves just as bad as the regular one, mostly because of people doing stuff in point one.

4) Every once in a blue moon Soarin' will "test" a single rider line but it's extremely rare.
Re point #1, how do they know how many are in your group? If everyone says they are a party of 1, are willing to be seated as 1, isn't it all that they can go on? Do they pull up your MDE to see how many are on your reservation or something? Which wouldn't even work since your group could be however many you are there with and you may or may not be connected in MDE.

Add us to the love Single Rider at EE. We never care about being separated so we use it a lot. Never have wrapped my brain around why EE can work so well and RnR works so badly. Same seating configuration, no separating of odd/even (like the newer rides do) Add to the fact that you can't tell till you are inside and it's just never worth the risk. At least with EE, if it does get bad on a rare occasion, you know not to try.

I couldn’t agree more. I’ve tried rnr single twice and both times it probably took me longer than it would’ve just getting in line. One time it was horrible and took so long that they actually ended up stopping the normal standby line and just bringing probably enough people to fill a train car from the single rider line.

I agree with this. EE is the only single rider queue I've tried, earlier this summer. The posted SB waits were about 45 minutes, and I rode (I think) 5 times straight with almost literally no wait - just walking through the empty queue up to the front and getting on the next train.

EE has a higher throughput than RnR. By about 300 per hour I believe. That is enough to make things a bit different for them.

It’s a little harder to predict how long a single rider waits as it depends on how many lances need to be filled.

I will also say Disney is getting very efficient with filling in the gaps.

I noticed this in particular with Slinky. Shortly after the merge, a CM asks how many in your party. One line is filled with all even number groups, a second line with all odd number groups. The vehicles are filled alternately using these lines. One train is all odd number groups where a group of three is told to line up in row 1 and 2 and the next group of 5 lines up in rows 2, 3 and 4. What a great system!!

Test track is often the shortest single rider line as those rows are 3 people if often need fillers.
