single rider lines

In Space Mountain, standby and LL lines are parallel to each other until you get into the main queue room. Approximately at the location where the standby & LL lines split to the left and right, there is a sign to notify a CM if you're a single rider.
Thanks. i know exactly where you are describing. I guess the excitement of being near the ride cars has always distracted me at that point lol

I remembered to take a picture of the Space Mountain single rider sign when I was there last month. SM can be a little too intense for my DW, so I'm usually riding it alone. It is not a dedicated line, and this time even after identifying myself as a single rider to a CM, they wanted me to go through the normal queue through all the back & forth until you get to the final left/right split that is behind a wall. Then they direct you to take the outside queue to bypass a little bit of the normal line. At least it is something; I wish there were a better single rider setup because I saw several rockets with open seats go by as I was in line.

I go solo a lot and have noticed this too. Very annoying.

I heard they had been testing a Soarin’ single rider line. Is it still going/pretty consistent and is it pretty fast?

In WDW Soarin & midway mania had single riders pre third theater/track additions … Flight of Passage, Remys Ratatouille Adventure and potentially Rise of the Resistance have the infrastructure for a single rider queue
Smugglers Run, Test Track, Everest & Rock & Roller Coaster are the only attractions that have active ones though Rock & Roller Coasters single rider can be even longer than standby

I saw a few months ago that they were testing a Soarin’ single rider line again. I know what other rides have one but I’m just wondering how consistent Soarin’ has been

They use it occasionally but for the majority of the time it isn’t open. It was open around lunch time one day during Jersey Week.

Who is "the Flight Crew"? Who do you identify yourself to? I didn't see any Cast Members in the queue.

The cast members. There aren’t many in the queue. There’s typically one on each loading area and at the standby/LL merge point but I don’t think there is anywhere else so it’s hard to be able to notify a CM before waiting through everything

I assume that "Flight Crew" means any Space Mountain cast member. When I was in the corner of the queue closest to where they're loading the rockets, I stopped and waved to a CM to identify myself as a single rider. Back in March, they let me hop out of the queue and immediately board a rocket that had an open seat. In October, they told me to continue going through the line and talk to the next CM. The next CM wasn't until the very final left/right split that goes behind a wall. With that setup, it is a whole lot of the normal queue, and then just a very small section of the queue that you bypass as a single rider, and then you're waiting for an odd group size that doesn't completely fill all 6 seats in a rocket.

The cast member at the standby and Genie+ merge. They will usually direct single riders down the separate line behind the wall, which saves maybe 10 to 15 minutes off the normal queue. They should let single riders just go up the Genie+ line so they can get right to the end.

Interesting experience I had last week:

On Ratatouille, I waited in the standby line as a single rider and was given my own row, while in the past I would've been paired with a group. This makes me think that they won't be using the single rider line in the foreseeable future.

I was able to skip the grouping section on Flight of Passage, but that maybe saves you 10 minutes at the end of a very long line. You also get the worse seat being added at the end.
