Single Rider Lines?

Hi everyone,

I had a trip planned for my DBF and I next week but we broke up today. I'm thinking about going alone since I can't get a refund for the hotel but I'm kind of nervous about it. Can someone please tell me which rides have a single rider line? I know Toy Story Mania does.. I was thinking maybe if I went on rides with that type of line I won't feel so out of place and weird about being alone at Disneyland.

I have done DL quite a few times alone it actually can be even more fun. I love to take pictures so I bring my camera and enjoy the SRL. I know that Splash Mountain, Indy, Scream'n, Soar'n, Grizzly and Toy Story all have SRL.

Basically enjoy yourself or take a friend! I know for me I like going alone as I can do what I want and create my own schedule and can take my time seeing and doing things others might not want to do. Have fun!

First off I am sorry to hear about your break up with your boyfriend. Is there possibly a friend who could take his place so you won't have to go alone?

To answer your question here is some info I found for you:


Attractions that offer Single Rider



Splash Mountain - to use the single rider option on this attraction, you will go through the exit. You will take the stairs over the water and next to the regular line at the loading area, will be a single rider line. Anytime they need 1 person to fill a log, they will pull from the single rider line. Both my husband and I used the single rider option on SplashMountain in November, and neither of us waited for more than 5 minutes. It is a great way to enjoy the ride quickly and get back to your child. (2004 Update - The Winnie the Pooh ride and the characters from Winnie the Pooh are right by SplashMountain. We switch off on parent riding Splash while the other took Alex on the his ride)



Disney's California Adventure has four attractions that have the single rider option.



Grizzly River Run - this attraction only offers the single rider option when there is a long wait for the normal queue. To use single rider here, check with the Cast Member at the beginning of the line. This person will let you know if single rider is available at that time, and if so, give you a pass. Once you get your single rider pass, you go up the stairs at the exit. Continue heading through the exit until you reach the boarding area. When you are needed, the loading Cast Member will give you a raft color or number and you are all set.



Soarin' Over California - for single rider, check with the Cast Member at the entrance of the Fastpass queue for a single rider pass. Once obtained you use the FastPass entrance. Some people recommend using FastPass instead of single rider on this very popular attraction. We did use single rider on this in November, and once again neither of us waited at all, getting on the first (next) flight to Soar. In fact, two out of 3 times, we each obtained front row seating.



Maliboomer - for this attraction, you will find a special line to the left of the main queue entrance.



California Screamin’ – for single rider you get a pass from the Cast Member in the Fastpass distribution area. You will then go through the exit to the Elevator. A Cast Member will send you in groups of 4 or 5 people to wait for a single seat. There is no line here, it is primarily a free for all, so don’t stand there and wait to be told to sit. Instead, when you hear a call for a single rider, start moving.

DLR solo is so fun! People will tell you how jealous they are that you can go alone and not worry about anyone else...at least that's what they've told me! CMs, fellow guests...anyone you talk to, it seems, wishes they could go solo.

TSMM, CA Screamin', Soarin'. Maybe Mulholland Madness but suddenly I can't remember. Grizzly, though I've never gone when it was needed, and they fill in empty spots in the regular line anyway. Splash (maybe), Indy...oh man, there are more...

Eh, someone else will chime in for you.

I hope you go, and I hope you have a fabulous time! You won't have to consult with anyone else, you can stop on a dime (making sure you aren't impacting those behind you of course) and go a different way without having to communicate it to anyone else, you can eat EXACTLY what you want without having to share...the list goes on.

I can say from personal experiance... DLR by yourself is awesome!!! I recently took a solo trip in August. It was only for a day and 1/2, but it was a lot of fun. I would do it again in a heart beart.


You can do what you want, when you want and do not have to answer to anyone else. You get to take the parks at your own pace, and enjoy the things you want to do. I say go for it. It will be an amazing memory down the road and who knows if you will ever have the chance again?

Indy used to have the single rider but it has been discontinued for a few years.

I am sorry to hear of your break up, but there is a very real silver lining.

Many moons ago my hubby and I celebrated our ten year anniversary with a Disneyland trip. He had to do a little bit of work, and so one day I headed to the park alone.....

IT WAS THE BEST DAY OF MY LIFE!!!!!

I love my hubby and kids, but having a day without any responsibility and all that magic and wonder....was beyond words. I ate an ice cream cone and NOBODY took a lick off of it but me.

I went potty whenever I wanted and nobody complained about my itty bitty bladder.

I did the Tiki Room three times in a row, and no one moaned or groaned.

It was magical. All the fun of being a kid and all the fun of being an adult in the middle of the most amazing suspension of reality.

Someday I hope of having another day like that.

I never felt weird being alone, on the contrary, I felt like a kid getting to eat an ice cream sundae for dinner....which really fit because Ice Cream was the main entree that evening.

Go, have a BLAST, enjoy the people watching, the freedom, the flexibility, the fun.

Wrong ~ DS has used the SR line for Indy for our past 2 trips ~ it's been just the 3 of us and DD is still too short for Indy. You walk up through the exit.

ya maybe but Indy used to have a sign for it like Splash does, which it no longer has. I guess it is more on the low down or they might make special allowances for small children riding solo.

Not on the "down low" at all. Just like with all other attractions that offer SR (with the exception of TSMM which has a dedicated and marked SR line), you have to ask the CM at the front of the que for a SR pass. Then they direct you through the exit or special SR entrance. Anyone can do it, really!

this is true... I have used it plenty of times. Plus, I know I saw a sign for it a few weeks ago.
