I wanted to make sure there are still single rider lines. This is the first time we'll be there with young adults and I think this might be a good way to go for us.

I don't know though if I will miss actually riding in the same car/seat/ etc. then my family members. Is it wierd to be sitting next to a stranger?

There are still a few rides with single rider lines. I think it is a great way to cut the line, so to speak, at Test Track. Will you feel weird? I don't think so, as long as you act friendly (which I assume you are:p) and don't worry about it too much. The rides are very brief. You spend more time in line then on the ride, and you still get to chat with your family in line. You won't be apart very long.:)

There are single rider lines at Rock 'n' Roller Coaster, Expedition Everest, and Test Track.

The one at Rock 'n' Roller Coaster can sometimes be longer than the standby line.

You spend a lot of time in very close quarters in line with others, so I don't find it any more odd to just ride with them.

If you have an odd sized party, you will be seated in close quarters on 7DMT with strangers as well. That one doesn't have a single rider line. They just overlap the odd party size groups to use the extra seats.

Be aware they aren't always open. We were at AK on June 7th and the single rider line was closed and blocked off.

No, I don't mind it. My husband and I do Rock N Roller Coaster single rider line all the time since Studios is tiered so we FastPass Toy Story Mania and then do single riders for the other one. What I find humorous is being beside the FastPass line and hearing the parties of two or four or six being called and I silently curse them. Because a single rider won't fit with those parties. And then a party of three is called and I silently cheer! Or a party of five.

But, once in the vehicle with my now "partner", I just ask if they have ever been on the ride before and that opens up a conversation. After the ride, say something stupid like "that was awesome or, sorry I yelled so loud or, thanks for the trip" and that's it.

To be honest, I haven't really remembered anyone who I rode with from the single riders' line and I doubt anyone has remembered me. It's like five minutes in both of your lifetimes.

The biggest drawback to single rider is if you invested in Memory Maker because your shots won't have you all together.

I have used single rider line many times with out any problems.

No weirder than standing in an elevator next to a stranger.

One morning at Test Track the regular line was out the building and long! I walked past all those people up to the CM at the podium and asked if the single rider line was open ...yep! went left into a separate door and boom, was on the ride in no time. Awesome.

All the time
Expedition Everest didn't open on our last trip though until 10:00ish

Test Track is especially awesome IMO.

I would just have an adult go first and an adult go last so no kids are ever alone except while on the ride

We used single rider for TT. We had a couple of rides in the same car (different rows) and the single rider is in the best seat for the photos. We then did a couple of rides where we were separated, so we had double the photos thanks to Memory Maker. One ride, I pretended to be bored whilst my husband was in a separate car pretending to be asleep. We hadn't planned it, and it caused a lot of hilarity for us and the other guests viewing their photos. One of my favourite moments and two great photos! :)

I did a solo trip this past April with one day in Universal and one at Disney. Needless to say, I did a lot of single rider lines and sat next to a stranger on every ride. It was a lot of fun! I actually enjoyed seeing strangers' reactions to the different rides. I am an introvert, too, so enjoying anything about strangers is a big deal for me. i can definitely see my family and I doing single rider lines when they are older as the fast lines are definitely worth it!

No more weird than if you ride RnRC as part of a party of 3, 5, or 7. Or ride TT as a party of less than 6.
