Single Rider Line Incident

my guess is that these are the folks who KNOW they split up parties in the single riders line, but decide to wait until they get to the front to make a fuss and try to buck the system.

I think if this happens enough we might see the single riders line go bye bye. I think they've already discontinued use of the one on Soarin.

I hate hearing stuff like this. You are right, this may ultimately force the end of the single riders line. :(

The son was telling the dad that if he couldn't behave and not embarrass him again, that he was riding by himself from now on. It was funny hearing the son chastise the dad... '.

Awesome kid! It looks like we have a good teenaged citizen out there who will turn out to be a great adult :teeth:

Wow. I had no idea that people did that. I went through the single rider line several times last year and never noticed anyone trying to get a group on. Of course, it was a slow time so there was hardly any wait in the stand-by so that was probably why, but I would have a hard time not saying anything to someone who tried to pull off a stunt like that. Going through the single rider line lessens your wait in line, but you run the risk of breaking up a group if you have one. That's the risk you take in return for a shorter wait time. If you want to ride together, get a fastpass or get in the stand-by line. Some people...

DH and my 2 DSs were in the Single Riders line at TT last year and they saw it happen. My 3 are all adults and knew they'd be separated-no problem! But they, too, saw a woman, with her 7 yo son, go balistic at the CM for separating them. This is the single rider's line? Some people just don't think the rules mean everyone, including them. But DH was so pleased that the CM stood firm and told her she'd have to go to the stand-by line. Bet she goes home thinking, "How dare they make ME follow the rules!?"

Some people are just idiots. She probably thought she could get around waiting in line or that she'd be given special treatment if she played dumb when she got to the front. Oh well. The CM was right to stick to his guns and not let her ride with everyone in her party.

so since i went to WDW solo this time, i decided to try to single rider line for Test Track. it was only a 10 min wait compared to the 65 for the regular standby. so we get up to the loading area, and the CM take a bunch of us single riders and assigns us a place to stand. well, all the sudden, this lady flips out on the CM, because he split her party of 6 up (they were in the SINGLE RIDER LINE), between 2 vehicles. she was so angry at him, and the CM just stood there.

i was so angry at this woman, she knew she was in the single rider line, and the sign says "YOU WILL BE SPLIT UP" and she gives the CM a problem for doing his job? it was a sad day....

any thoughts?!?

Unfortunetlly I have seen this a number of times as people try to get away with just about anything.

Our last trip (2 weeks ago), on Test Track, the CM, after loading the single-riders into the screening room, made us pledge that we understood that we WOULD (not "may") be split up. Of course she did it in a joking, friendly, Disney way. But, you could tell it must happen frequently. Kind of sad, since there are numerous can't-miss signs and warnings along the way.

I wonder what other ways this guy is teaching his little son that the system is for suckers, and how the son will act when he's grown up.

I think he'll run stop signs and red lights. After all, the rules don't apply to him.

last trip I went on, and was solo, I was in the single rider line. I ended up talking to a couple of the guys in line with me by the time we got to the cars. It wasn't busy, so we ended up getting in the same car, with the CM saying, "well, I'm not supposed to do this, but y'all are the only ones waiting"...I reassured the CM that we had never met...we were just visiting in line!!! :rotfl:

I feel back for anyone who gets yelled at for doing their job! No fun, at all!

When we were in the single rider line for Test Track they also announced it over a loud speaker that if you are in the single rider line the group will be broken up. The first time we stood in the regular line it said 45 min wait. That was after Test Track being down for 3 hours because of rain. We were in line for over 2 hours. Never again. Its single rider line or FP line.

A funny thing happened to us in April. We were in Fast pass lane and when they escort you to the little room to watch the Guy and his assistant set-up your test schedule, a woman urge her husband to block the door so no one gets in front of their group. I can still hear her voice "Honey, they are trying to get in front of us", We've been on the ride bunches of times we know the words by heart, we let others that have never seen it get a better view. If we could bypass that part we would. The husband was embarrassed but Wifey held her ground. No one got in front of her group. We were behind them, They led them to the first 2 cars (10 in her group) We were led to the 4th car which was boarding at that time. As we (in a car) passed her standing in line, we waved. LOL We enjoy that a lot. We are so bad. :cool1: I should have taken a pic of her. Her look was priceless.

That is too funny!

I wouldnt last longer than 1 day as a CM working one of those rides.
Having to deal with people like that - no way!
I wouldnt have a tongue left as many times as I'd have to be biting it ;)

Even an occassional ******* slips into WDW................. :rolleyes1

Some people are ignorant of the posted rules and it really kills me when they treat CMs in this fashion. This poor people don't get paid much and do a really good job at keeping the peace and smiles. They deserve better treatment than these kinds of guests. Going to WDW is a privilege not a god given right. You should respect the park, people around you, and especially the people trying to make your day a happy one.
