Or they could go with a name that's a little simpler but means exactly the same thing like, I don't know... single rider line?

Wait - did we forget that they state that groups will be split up? Sort of makes the idea that only solo travelers are the intended users of the line a moot point.

I can't say for sure that they use the word "group." It might state that your "party" will be split up or some other synonymous phrase. But if only parties of one are supposed to use the single rider line, there would be nothing to split up.

^^^ and I say that as someone who's wired to be a hardcore rule follower, and also as someone who regularly travels solo. So, you bet, if I'm angling for the Single Rider line and a group gets in the line in front of me, I will absolutely groan to myself that I should have gotten there 30 seconds earlier so I could have been in front of the gaggle instead of behind them... but do I think they don't have a RIGHT to be using the same line as me? Nope.

What? I don’t understand your post. We are single riders. 4 single riders walking into the line at the same time. Are you trying to tell me there is something wrong with what I did? You called it abuse and I just don’t understand that at all.

It is fine for a party to use the single rider line as long as they understand that they will most likely be split up. The problem is when they go to board the ride and ask to sit together. Therefore, no children under 7 should be allowed in the single rider line.

Yep. If the ride requires a 7 yo to be accompanied by someone aged 14+, that 7 yo is not a single rider.

They also specifically point out that the line could very well be as long as the standby line, which also flies in the face of the idea of the line being set up to give "legitimate singles" a shorter line.

I really don’t understand why people traveling solo feel like they’re entitled to some kind of front-of-the-line specialness solely because they are alone? The solo rider line is NOT for people who are alone, it’s for people WILLING to split up to ride. And as the mom of a family of 7, IMO big groups like us should be the ones getting front-of-the-line specialness just because of the sheer amount of money we drop in WDW! (Lol, just kidding of course)

It's just a vocal few. Read the whole thread, there are lots of us who travel solo who do not feel that way.

I think it is that solo travelers do get spoiled because it is often much shorter. When you are often given X, you grow to expect X as a given.

This reminds me. I really need to look into which rides at the local Six Flags do Single-Rider.
