This seems to be the trend right now over at 2peas and in the magazines. I like them but I have so many pictures I tend to cram as many as I can on a page or 2 page layout.

So, how many single picture pages do you have?
Do you like them?
What is your average picture quota for a page or 2 page layout?

So, how many single picture pages do you have? about 5

Do you like them? they are ok depending on the point of the layout but I have tons of pics so I need more than 1 on a page.

What is your average picture quota for a page or 2 page layout? I think my average is around 8-10.

For me, it really depends on how many good pics I have of an event or topic. I would prefer more than 1 pic per page but sometimes that's all I have to work with. I'm not sure of the exact number of pages I have with only 1 pic on them but I seem to have more of them lately than not.

Since pretty much everything I do is actually 2 page layouts for each topic/subject/event, sometimes I have one pic on a page along with a title, tag, journaling, etc. and more pics on the opposite page.

The only trend I really don't like are the odd sized pictures that they use in magazines. For cost reasons, I print my pics out usually at Walgreens and I use pretty much all 4 x 6 size and rarely do any trimming or shaping of them.

I do single photo layouts all the time. I actually tend to prefer them. I'm very selective about which photos I scrap. I never scrap a "so-so" picture. Why waste all the time (and money) scrapping a photo that you don't love.

Normally I upload all of my pictures to the computer. After I edit them, I transfer the pictures I actually want to purchase a print of to kodakgalleries. I then, in most cases, order a 5x7 print. As I said, I only scrap the best of the best. The rest of my keepable pictures (if they are all for the same event or vacation), I save them to disc. I've come up with a system for each "themed" album. I create a little pocket envelope and attach it to the back cover of the album for the disc. That way, if I ever do want to go back and get a print of a pic from that trip and/or event, I'll know just where to go.

I do them occasionally. It depends on the picture, event and how much journalling I was to include. Thinking about it, I guess I've been doing more of it lately... I did several in the past few days! LOL

But it's different in the digital world, using a single photo is normal, whereas multi is less normal. I love multiphoto pages too tho! Yesterday I did one with 10 pics of my son getting ready for our next trip to WDW!

I tend to use every photo, probably not so much now that we have gone digital, I have yet to print any digital pictures since going strictly digital but with printed pics I have used every one. I couldn't bear to toss them.

The ones from our first trip to WDW were not so great, we had a cheap digital and took 10 rolls of 35mm film so some of the night pictures are grainy but since it was our first trip I had to scrap all of them.

I do however have 2 great pics, one of DD in a cute orange dress with her first pigtails and a pic of DS11 when he was 4 at my BFF's wedding. He was the ring bearer and DH took a fabulous B&W pic of him. those will be single picture pages.

Thanks for your opinions, keep them coming. And I have questions for the next 2 days too. :thumbsup2

So, how many single picture pages do you have? Aside from some in my wedding album, I don't think I've ever done a single photo layout for 12x12. For my 6x6, of course they're nearly all single photo layouts. ;)

Do you like them? It would have to be some picture to justify a whole page on one photo. I'm a crammer too. And I will admit to scrapping less than stellar photos if they're part of a story or if it's the only one I have of something.

What is your average picture quota for a page or 2 page layout? For a 2 page layout I average 6-8. I've noticed that back before digital and when I did 8.5x11 that number was the same. I feel like the transition to digital has made for a lot less cropping so the extra space hasn't meant extra photos.

I like the questions of the day! Looking forward to the next ones!

So, how many single picture pages do you have? None, but I have several in mind.. Remember those great family photos we did last year? I want to do several pages of those especially the ones done of DH and I.. The ones of the DsS16, and DD13.. and than the 3 littler boys.... I want to add some great journalling to them...

Do you like them? Depends one what I'm showcasing.. ask me again this weekend and I'll tell you for sure.. I'm going to scrap them w/ a friend on Friday night.. yep, we are trying a friend crop... So, wish me luck!
What is your average picture quota for a page or 2 page layout?I usually do 2 page LOs with 4-8 photos on it... I don't do the so-so photos they get tucked away in a photo box until I get that book done and than I will add them into a acid-free photo bucket in the back of the book (I want to find some nice sized ones that I can seal tight.) I can't bare to part w/ the photos of my kids... I just want to scrap each and every moment... They are only young once and in the photos I can keep them that way...

As for the photo of DD w/ the piggy tails.. I love that photo!!! I still have it saved on my computer!!!! :) Hey, I found the Boo Stickers the other day.. do you still want them?????

sure!!! I love the Boo look, her hair is getting long enough now to look more like regular pigtails though. :sad1: where is my baby going????

I have done some 1 photo pages. Mostly for DSIL's wedding album.

I'm not opposed to them, I just usually have more than one photo for what I'm working on. I suspect when I get my parents photos from my childhood, I will have more single photo pages.

Like Buffy, I cram as much as I can on a page, so I'm probably between 7-12 per 2 page layout.

I only have 1 LO that has only 1 picture. I have too many pictures for that, and it's just not something I like for my albums. I use 5-7 per page, usually a two-page spread for each thing, although not always.

So, how many single picture pages do you have? None in my 12 x 12 albums that I can recall, but I have done many in smaller gift albums (8 x 8 and 6 x 6 albums).

Do you like them? I find them very striking when I see them (like on twopeas) but I actually find it HARDER to put one picture on a page and have it look good than multi-photo pages.

What is your average picture quota for a page or 2 page layout? Not sure..... I would guess probably 5-8 pictures for a 12 x 12 2 page LO, which is the primary format that I work in.

Like others have said here, I tend to be a bit of a crammer, as I have so many photos to scrap. And most one-day events I don't want to have to scrap multiple pages for. But I have DEFINITELY gotten better about being selective on which photos to use. I did used to feel the need to use every decent photo from an event. But I have learned to pare it down to the best 5 or so and it works well. With fewer pictures I have room to add more enlargements, rather than working with strictly 4 x 6 and smaller photos.

On the other hand.... as far as cramming goes.... I have learned recently to order "accent photos" in wallet size and it has worked REALLY well. For example.... I was doing a LO of a visit to Old Sturbridge Village with my kids. I printed the photos of the kids in 4 x 6, but printed several of the "atmosphere" type photos in wallet size and I was able to include many nice photos, but still put the focus of the pages on my kids......................P

So, how many single picture pages do you have? I dont have any in my 12 x 12 albums. In my mother's BIG birthday a few years back, I did a 7 x 7 album, each person got their own page. On each page I put their picture and the written greeting they wrote.

Do you like them? I find them very striking when I see them to but not very practical. It's instilled in me to be practical. It's a curse and a blessing.

What is your average picture quota for a page or 2 page layout? On my two page layout of the Statue of Liberty I must have over twenty pictures. Years later it is still my most favorite layout I've ever done.

good idea! The only thing I don't like about wallets, from say Walmart, is you get 2 of them. what do I do with the other one??

I thought about soing this with the orange dress pic, I took 4 shots but one looks great which I printed in 5x7 portrait style but I was thinking of printing the others smaller and going across the page small, small, big , small I don't know???

cvs lets you print 3 or 4 pics (your choice) on a 4x6 size. This is AWESOME when scrapping for the teachers for example. As for the original question, I tend to also use as many pics as possible. I will occasionally use just one if I want to print out a song or something on vellum as an overlay. I think that particular layout is still in my gallery on 2 peas. :) maggie

that's cool, can I download pics to CVS.com and have them printed and just pick them up? Like I do at Walmart?

can I swipe your dreamer layout??? the revolving one? I left a comment for ya too!

rofl! That's not mine.... there's a link below to create your own (pick the things most like you)... But it would make a good layout!
