Single moms with teenage boys going this summer?

I want to take my DS14 to Universal this summer. I don't ride the wild roller coasters, so of course, DS is not thinking he will have any fun. He doesn't want to ride the rides by himself. I don't want to bring a friend with us, because that would take away from the family time we could have when we weren't at the parks. I'm just wondering if maybe someone else is in the same boat and would be interested in meeting up at the parks while we are there. We don't have set plans for dates and I am off for the summer.

Well, I'll be staying at the HRH from 8/18 thru 8/24 with my DD who is 13 and a coaster and ride FREAK.

She is having some of the same concerns about just hanging with Dad for a week. Maybe we'll see you there.

Wish we could go that late, since DS' birthday is 8/24. Being a teacher, I have to be back at work that week.

The joys of living in the south! DD doesn't get out of school here until June 24 and they go back the Tuesday after Labor Day.

Well, I don't think I could stand it until June 24! LOL We get out June 10 this year.

We will be there July 3-10 with me, DW, DS 7, DW's brother 16, and DW's brothers friend 16. We all ride the rides except my DW does not do the roller coasters. If you are there that time we would be more than happy to meet up.

Wow, ya'll get out late. In GA. the kids get out Friday May 29th some kids got out this past friday! The kids go back Aug. 3rd- but the kids get out for a week every six weeks, so we are going in Sept its called a "Fall Break"

Yeah, they do get out late here. This year they even lost the 4 day weekend for Memorial Day because we used one too many snow days.

Thankfully, they won't be going into July like some of the kids will be where schools have closed for a week or more because of students with Swine Flu.

We live in jersey too but our boys get out June 9th this year!!!

I have friends in Ocean County and their kids get out a lot earlier then we do here. I guess it depends on the amount of days off during the year.

I can guarantee you that DD would love a early June dismissal

I think the only reason we are getting out earlier this year is because they want to do some construction in the school...otherwise we would be getting out the 2nd or 3rd week of June.

I'm not single but DH isn't coming so it'll be me and 16 year old DS. The trouble is that DS won't ride the IOA coasters but I would! We're just the opposite.

Planning on a Universal trip the first week in Aug with my DS age 14. We both ride all the rides.

Just me and DW this June and only problem is she loves coasters now but I can't ride them more than once due to my back
