Single in June

Have you ever had the need to SEE and EXPERIENCE the ocean? Well, I am having that problem right now. I own a travel agency so it is really cheap for me to do the DCL thing for a 3 night in June. However, I really want to just go by myself. I am young (23) and don't have any kids so this is a really odd thing for me to do. I am comfortable being by myself (in fact, I would rather go on vacation alone) but was wondering what the pitty party from the staff and other cruisers would be if I was alone. Anybody who has done it bfore have any feedback? I would really appriciate it!!

Hey, if you go to relax and just enjoy being by yourself, I can't see any pity around. DD does excursions by herself and she's 25. We all need some alone and pampering time occassionally. Sounds like fun to just do as you please and don't have to ask anyone. You can join activities or not as you want.

Go for it and have a great, relaxing time.

I have been on two cruises alone and never felt there was any pity party around me. Lots of parents split up during the day andtake in events separately. My initial concern was meals but dining companions made me feel like part of the family right away.

Pop over to the single and solo board and read some of those threads, your feals will rapidly disappear. Don't pass up the benefit.

I am 45 and have done 3 DCL cruises and many Disney vacations by myself. I only wish I was brave enough to do this in my early 20's. I love DCL. The staff has been terrific. My tablemates have been great, once a party of single women, another time I was seated with 3 couples of varying ages and backgrounds and the last time I sat with a family of 5.

I have friends and many relatives, I just usually prefer to travel alone. I want to experience all life has to offer, without waiting for "someone special" to share it with. Think of all I would miss if I never meet that person.

I have done 3 of the 4 DCL's "single" as my husband's busy season is when I have vacation with the kids. It's rare when we get together. So, my kids are usually in the clubs and there I am. I've loved it!! My tablemates were great -- met someone else on board that was "single" for the cruise and we did Palo -- I think you'll be fine especially if you've traveled alone and enjoy it. I was a bit nervous the first time but heck, it was great!
