Do you wear a ring on your left ring finger for safety sake? I haven't traveled as a single in a long time and was wondering what others do.

I did once and found out a ring attracts some! Go figure! I travel ringless now.

You beat me to it! The ring attracts the scum of society.

I just go, have fun, and be aware of my surroundings. At night, I'm most comfortable at Jellyrolls because there are lots of singles and everyone there is very nice. I had one drunk guy bugging me one night and I told Josh the doorman and he sent him away. It's a good safe place :goodvibes

timely thread for me. i'm married but am not in the habit of wearing my wedding ring. i'll be traveling solo in the near future and considered wearing it-but then i recalled how i get hit on much more wearing it than not.

it amazed me how some guys would accept 'no thanks i've got a boyfriend' and leave me alone but if they heard 'no thanks i'm married' they were ardent in their pursuit. (i have to laugh though-i have a female friend who got sick of being hit on despite polite and not so polite 'no thank you's'-she finaly got to the point that if a guy kept bugging her she'd say 'sorry i just got finished with a rotten marriage and my attorney says until they drop the charges from homicide to manslaughter it's not advisable for me to have social interactions with men' :rotfl2: ).

OK, I guess I'll stay ringless.

Men can be such pigs. Makes me glad I'm single.

I sometimes wear a ring on my left hand. But it's just because I enjoy my jewelry! I've not found that wearing a ring stops flirtation. My response to the flirtation (if it is unwanted!) stops it, not a piece of jewelry.

BTW.................not all men are "pigs" just as not all women are "shrews" ;)

In my line of work, I often deal with single males that our lost in their need of buying appliances or on having to actually use some appliances. (Is it really that hard to use a dishwasher or a washer/dryer) To date, I have gotten 4 proposals, 5 date offers and countless dang I want you's. These have all been while I'm wearing my engagement ring. Generally there is a male employee walking to the break room at the time who sees this and well becomes my temporary fiance for the time being since well my real fiance is working in his department on the other side of the store.

Needless to say, when I travel, I wont be wearing my ring.

Apprently not wearing much if you gave I95N a peep show.

And men are not all pigs. Some men are pigs and some women are golddiggers but pigs cannot be men and shrews cannot be women or something like that.

I was 6 when I gave the peep show :p Tag Fairy left that part out.

Figment's friends - Trust me, these guys weren't worth the time.

I think sometimes wearing a ring causing more attention, almost like a pursuit. DH doesn't wear his wedding band because of his job and even he said that when he does he seems to get more attention from women than when he doesn't. Maybe some people just look at it as a challenge.

:rotfl: I'll have to remember this one!

I am single, and refuse to wear a ring. I spend most of my time in Epcot, and on one of my trips, there was an Epcot security guard (one of the bag checkers) that kept hitting on me. So, I made a trip to Walmart halfway through the trip and bought a $10 ring and wore it. Not only did I have him hitting on me, but I had others hitting on me too. Never again - I'm single, proud of it, and no more rings for me.
