Yes, the one in Houston is the Johnson Space Centre. They don't have the launch pad but they have the main control room ( remember, "Houston, the eagle has landed" and "Houston, we have a problem" ? ) and also the main astronaut training facilities etc. I gather they run similar movies and do the same sort of activities as the Kennedy Center. We really enjoyed our day at Cape Canaveral so we're really looking forward to seeing the one at Houston good to know Wamumof4 enjoyed it

Yep it's goose bump material to be able to go sit in the same room that presidents and the queen have watched shuttles be launched from it is amazing and both times we have not had enough time there I hope you will love it if you haven't already got your tickets there is a $5 discount buying them online now I am not sure how long it's for but the tickets are good all year.

Thanks for the heads-up! I'll grab the tickets ASAP. I've been tossing up about booking the "lunch with an astronaut" , a friend did it at Cape Canaveral and enjoyed it. Anyone on the DIS done it? I'd be interested to hear opinions

I seem to be a few days behind The conference was amazing so much information to absorb the kids really enjoyed it as well, our friends flew home to Australia today and only 3 sleeps till DH gets here We met a lovely family from Holland they also had 4 kids and our combined children had a ball and loved spending time together we all thought it was a divine appointment they stayed an extra night so they could go out to dinner with us one more time
iPads about to go flat will finish update when we find the charger

DH is about to board the plane I can't believe it's 16 days since we left home

the last few days have gone so quick so I am bundling to all in to one post!
Whilst at the conference we ate at Applebee's, Maccas, a Mediterranean buffet no idea what it was called but we wouldn't go back, Humperdinks x2 and Fuddruckers oh my they have the best hamburgers we have ever eaten in the USA and they make a mean brownie sundae.

Monday we moved hotels back to near the airport I wish we had of stayed where we were the hotel is fine we stayed here when we first got here the other one was just better! We just had pizza hut for tea.

Yesterday we met people we had met at the conference for lunch they shouted Applebee's which was lovely of them, then we went shopping at the Grapevine Mall I think Karen may of mentioned this store the Burlington Coat Factory oh wow there prices are really low better than any outlet store we have been to.
Ds11 got a Calvin Klein suit for $60 both boys got there suites plus vests, shirts and ties and we also got shirts ranging from Nike, Rusty and Element plus others and dd got shoes for $348 we had 18 items I was very with that. Ds15 and DS16 both got a pair of Oakleys so that's done then we had Fuddruckers for tea?

Today we went to Sea life aquarium it was good as DS15 said for somewhere so far from the ocean we had taco bell for lunch, then we made the mistake of going in the Disney shop who had 30% of any clearance stuff 2 hours and $300 later we left We then went back to the Burlington coat factory where after half an hour we all decide we had sore feet came back to the hotel and we are Munching on pizza hut they have brought us the wrong size pizzas but I am to tired to care I told the kids to just eat it

DH has called whilst I was typing to say he is the last person to board the plane

DH walked out about 3:15 thought that was pretty good considering how long it took us to get through the kids had made him up a sign he thought that was pretty good. We are in Topeka I drove a bit further than I intended but I guess it means we don't have as far to go tommorow
We stopped for subway for a very late lunch and maccas and fuel for tea boring food day

Shame about the rain for the first night but at least they got the meeting in. Shame Kerry Madsen went out with motor problems in the A main.

Well time is flying the Nationals are over we had a great time and DH told everyone we are coming back next year he must be getting a great pay rise cause I am not sure where it fits in the budget but I am sure I will manage

We went To Siuox Falls to watch speedaway it got rained out so we went bowling and had pizza instead was a great night with some other Aussies and our friend who couldn't race, we will most certainly be going back there the track looks awesome.
Yesterday we drove to Mt Rushmore, we stopped at the Corn Palace which was great to see, 1880 town which we loved and Wall which was good but defiantly only a once pace for us and the Badlands which was awesome

Today we have been to Mount Rushmore and driven to Cody was a gorgeous drive and I am very glad we decided not to fly, tommorow we hit Yellowstone.
