Single digit dance hampered by Strep throat!!

9 days and counting

And.....

This can't be happening!! I took my DS4 to the dr yesterday since he'd been running a low grade fever(100.4) for a few days and they tested him from strep just to rule it out and YEP you guessed it! He has strep! We all had it in 2005, but I think we caught this just at the start since his no where nearly as sick as he was then! I super love my dr too, he said if anyone seems like they are getting it he will call in and Rx for us too

Hopefully the rest of us will all stay healthy!

My nephew was diagnosed with Bronchitis, Sinusitis, and a double ear infection, 1 1/2 days before we left!!!!!! He started feeling better by day 3 of the vacation!!!!

But it all worked out!!!

This can be managed--we've done it, only worse!! Two years ago, the night BEFORE we left, my DS told me his throat hurt. I called our pediatrician at 8:00 the next morning and explained the situation. His office is on the way to the airport--thank goodness. He got us in at 1:00. Yep, DS had strep--full blown!! I had prepared him for the fact that a shot was upcoming and boy it was a doozie--looked like Karo syrup. Our doc told us to go on to WDW (as a matter of fact, he started asking questions because he was going in a few months), but to take it easy for the first night. We flew down, checked in our room, unpacked, and were just going to take it easy until DS announced that he felt much better and was ready to go to Disney Quest!! His leg was sore most of the trip from the shot, but it was worth it.

Just remember to take your DS a new toothbrush. With our last go around with strep, my ped. told us to change after DS had been taking antibiotic for about a week because the germs are still in your mouth until then! Be careful not to eat or drink after him! Have a great time.

Thank goodness it is strep and the medicine would take care of that, now a cold about the only thing that takes care of that is time and fluids oh yeah chicken soup.

One of my docs that I work for was so kind to check my ear ache this week that I have had for a number of days, along with a little sinus flare up. He was so kind to give me an antibiotic or I would have been fullblown by next week with a sinus infection. I am 7 days out!

It must be something in the air. I also live in Iowa and we leave two weeks from today. Daughter was diagnosed with Strep on Monday and started the antibiotic then. Well, guess what, today fever is back and she is worse than ever! Doctor called in another antibiotice so I am keeping my fingers crossed. I am just scared that I will get it next. Every cold she has had I have gotten it twice as bad about a week later.
