kinda sounds like you get what you pay for, cause as you can see below we did all star music and we wont go back (not as bad as what you went thru) it was just very "value"
we did AKL this time and i cant even imagine anything like that happening there.....our maids made animals out of fresh towels

well if you ever stay on property again, consider upgrading, carribean beach is beautiful too and our friends said they didnt see any difference in the service there from the service they received at GF. I personally will never do an all star again i would stay off property first.

We had a bad experience there 3 weeks ago. We had reserved a prefered room, but when we checked in they were all taken. We ended up 3 buildings back. I tholught the prefered rooms were guaranteed if you had it on your reservation. Would not have been a big deal, but my mom had just had some minor suregery and did not want to do any extra walking outside of the parks. Our party had 2 rooms under 1 reservation. When my sister arrived she was wrongly told that I was already checked-in. They gave her my room number, but when I showed up would not give me hers!

It sounds like they need to do a better job of training their cast members!
 
So what do you think... mousekeeping thought someone slept in the tub? I'm surprised they didn't make up the tub-bed!!

I don't blame you for being upset either. Sick child, vomit, lousy service. Doesn't make for a great vacation.

Do try to stay at a moderate. Hell, you don't need to save for college - stay at the Contemporary. You can walk that little one to the MK!!

It is my understanding that Disney does not guarantee any request (unless you have a medical condition that requires them to hold a certain room for you), they just try to accomodate the request the best they can. DW and I have stayed at the all stars twice (Music/Country and Sports/Football) and only had one issue. When we arrived at the ASM, our room had a broken lock in that we couldn't get in. Disney sent a maintainence man right over and he had to take the door completely apart and put in a new locking system. They would have switched us rooms, but all of the rooms were taken at all of the All Stars at the time as were most of the Moderates (that could be part of the problem with your request not being filled. All Stars are often full or close to it) Took them about two hours, so a CM came by and gave us vouchers for dinner at the food court and when we came back, we just stayed in our room and chatted with the maintainence man until he finished. The Supervisor CM called to make sure everything was ok and thanked me for being so nice... he then asked if there was anything he could do for us because we were so understanding. I mentioned that I thought the Halloween party sounded fun, so he called back in about 30 minutes with comped tickets for it... Like my Grandmother always said, Kill em with kindness. Not only did they buy my dinner for being understanding, they also comped DW and I to MNSSHP. :)
 

Not to beat a dead horse, but when you agree to pay extra for something it should be given to you. I wasn't upset over the exact room location, or the floor we were on. Don't they know how many rooms are in the preferred buildings? But I know people don't always check out when they are supposed to. They aslo had my deposit wrong, and when I asked the cm about it she got a panicked look on her face and had to call for help, which is why I think she needed a little more training. As I am in the service industry I make sure to not yell at the person I am dealing with, and make darn sure to say please and thank you! It is not like she messed up the reservation!
