I just had a great experience with Gloria from Member Services. I'd made a reservation for the week after Easter next year, based on historical spring break data. I got information today that spring break will be the week after that. Great. And I'd had to borrow points (April uy, doncha know) to make it happen.
Crap, crap, crap, I thought...

So, I called Member Services, explained my situation, politely asked if they could unborrow those points as a one time exception & reschedule the reservation for the following week. Gloria was WONDERFUL. She was friendly, kind & nothing but helpful. She completely resolved my situation & was nothing but friendly as she did so.

I did stay on the line to take their end-of-call survey & gave her all excellents.

Just thought I'd share my very positive experience!

I don't understand, why couldn't just cancel and book a week later?

I am glad you got the excellent service that you did!:yay:

I needed to have the borrowed points returned to their original use year. Unless I'm confused (and that is entirely possible!), it's my understanding that once points are borrowed, they can't be returned to their original uy. The original trip dates were 3/28-4/1; the new trip dates are 4/4-4/8. We have an April uy. It's all based around a school trip - the only reason we're traveling then.

So they let you "unborrow" the points? I've never read of that happening! Congrats!

Now I understand, when you posted that your original reservation was for the week after Easter, I assumed the you had booked in April.

And I should also mention that there was exactly zero wait time... once I got through all the prompts (and there seemed to be many), I was connected right away. No hold time at all. :)

For all the carping we tend to do, it's nice to have member services there when you need them. OP, I had a similarly great experience recently that involved syncing two SSR reservations, four military park admission tickets and four magic bands. My sis and I were flummoxed trying to do it. I got on the phone and the outstanding MS person deciphered what we'd done and fixed it in a matter of minutes. I was so happy after she did all that I actually took the time to send a note. The trip hasn't even happened yet and I feel I've already gotten a little pixie dust myself. That's why Im still glad I bought into DVC.

Bethifoody and Mokat76, so nice of you to post positive experiences with Members Services! I worked there years ago, and I know how demanding that job can be. I still have friends that work there, though I left the company to move out of state several years back. As a 2 decades plus member, I can also say that overall they do an outstanding job. Kudos to Members Services!!!:thanks:
