Sims3 issues

I am hating this game because of the performance on my Mac. It freezes and then erases my progress.

Any ideas? It will work for a couple time then freeze up and erase. If I go back in I have to start over even though my "towns" are still there. It won't allow me to chose them.

What's up with that? It's as if my data is corrupted. Should I unistall and reinstall?

You need more RAM.

Try www.crucial.com and click the button that will scan your system and tell you which RAM you need, then order as much as you can afford. RAM is by far the cheapest and best thing you can do for any computer. A 4GB set of RAM from them for our 2009 iMac model was about $70. Very easy to install, too - most iMac there is one screw on the bottom, pull out the old RAM, slide in the new RAM and push gently until it clicks, then turn it back on. Easy peasy.

The Sims is a very RAM intensive game, and Sims3 probably needs at MINIMUM 2 GB of RAM on any machine, but 4 GB would be even better if your machine can take it. Older computers might not be able to use more than 2 GB so check that (the Crucial scanner will actually tell you).

I concur. You don't have enough RAM. The min specs list 2GB.

Replacing the RAM is very easy. Don't have Apple do it. I think they quoted me 300 to go to 4GB.

I have no experience with the site above but did upgrade min on my own.

I can't believe one gigabyte of RAM is not enough these days. I remember when I had 4 megabytes of RAM. Things sure have changed.

OOOH thanks! Now my son is telling me I have 2 slots so I should be able to leave the one GB card in and just add another 2GB to end up with 3?
But I'll check before I order that! Thanks My guy was just about to be a superstar and it froze on me!
