Up at 7.30, grabbed a coffee and went out to meet the launch leaving the boys to have a lie in. John and I arrived at MK just as the opening ceremony was finishing (have never seen this at any park yet!). We entered the park to immediately see Daisy just getting ready for photos. We took loads of photos with hardly anyone around and even managed a ride on Thunder Mountain and still got back to the hotel for another coffee by 9.30am.

A very nice gentleman sitting minding his own business took this for us!

We were now heading to DTD for a shopping trip, especially the Christmas shop although last time I was here I spent almost $100 and had a huge box of decorations to get home, this time I limited myself to just one, however Ashley managed to break one he dropped it when showing it to me, the staff rushed over and told us 'accidents will happen, don't worry', that was really nice of them as it would have cost us $15 otherwise.

Pic of the monorail over our heads at the Poly bus stop.

Crikey, where do you start choosing the one you want?

Returned to the resort mid afternoon for a swim and found another towel animal on the bed, we could never quite work out what this one was!

This is when the fun started, we were due at Cape May at the Beach Club for dinner, we thought we'd go over on the launch to MK to catch the bus to BC, it was drizzling when we arrived at the launch, the pilot said 'if I were you I'd go back to the monorail', 'we'll be OK' we said. Mmmmmm, a few seconds into the journey the rain was almost horizontal into the open sided boat, we couldn't have been any wetter if we'd have swam across, we were finding the whole thing hilarious (something we wouldn't do here) but arrived MK side the path was 6" deep in water (good job we had crocs on), we waded through and caught the monorail back (John wanted to stay on the boat back but I felt rather foolish insisting we carried on in the first place) we couldn't go for dinner in that state. We arrived back to find the lobby swarming with people waiting for the Spirit of Aloha show to start, I overheard that the restaurant was flooded and they had to cancel, staff were giving out ponchos so John helped himself to 4 and we went and got dried off, sat out the storm and ventured back to MK a couple of hours later when the rain was lighter. We were certainly ready for something to eat and made our way to Cosmic Rays (not quite what we had in mind for dinner).

Just had to have a record of the night.

Kids wanted to go back so we let them and we stayed behind and watched Wishes from Main Street with our arms around each other. Its the most romantic moment we've had in years.:love:We made our way around to the boat dock and saw the water pageant pass by. Got back to the boys, Glen had taken Ashley down to the arcade and for a drink and on their way back had sat by the marina where they said there was a Wishes cruise with birthday banners on that hadn't gone out but sat there with the people on board and the music being piped in and they sat and listened to it (cheeky monkeys). If I had have been there I would have asked them to move but they said they behaved themselves and no one said anything to them. Ah well, you have to be a little cheeky or you get nothing in life!!!!

I loved all the pics of you around MK - the place looked absolutely deserted.
Seeing the photo of the red sleigh also brought a few memories back. My kids sat in that to watch the 3pm parade one year. They reckon they were the best seats in the house.

Impressed with the boys ability to make the best of a good situation :thumbsup2

All caught up again :thumbsup2.I love all of your pics, they are great. The Wishes Dessert Party looked great and those cakes looked very scrummy-although i think a few more than that would have ended up on my plate .
We have never been to Busch Gardens, but i would love to feed the Giraffe's.Busch Gardens would be more my Hubby's thing than mine+the girls.Maybe when there older we may veture to there.
I love the Christmas shop at DTD,and at Easter i spent aprox $120 in there :scared1: .
Really enjoying your trippie.x.

lovely that you got some time together for your selfs. I also thought the time your sons spent together sounds lovely too.

Takes more than a little rain to dampen your spirits. Look at the smiles in the poncho picture.
