Woke up at 6.15 fell asleep until 7.55pm. 8am opening at MK was now out of the question! Fetched breakfast from Captain Cooks, I was determined to try the famous Tonga Toast. Also fetched fresh pineapple, yoghurts and drinks. Luckily being in Aotearoa building we were quite close to Cpt. Cooks.

Finally made it to MK by boat, I know the Poly is well served by the monorail, but the boat ride is so civilised and relaxing, we loved it.
Characters were out in force just inside the entrance, but we just stopped with these two rascals.

It was about 10am by now and we gave the boys permission to head off on their own on the promise that they were at crystal palace by 11.30 for our lunch ressie at 11.55. We love our boys dearly but the relief we felt at being able to go where we wanted without having to consider what they wanted was such a nice feeling:o:

We headed for Adventureland (our favourite part of MK) got fastpasses for Jungle Cruise and then with just a couple of minutes to go just managed to arrive in time for the pirate tutorial.

Went and did the jungle cruise and then as we were heading back to Crystal Palace the parade was in front of the castle, so had a quick bop!

Saw the boys already waiting on the steps of the restaurant so went over to them to see what they had done. They had been and got fastpasses for Big Thunder Mountain and Glen, bless him, had taken Ash on Its a Small World (he loves anything bright and brash as a lot of autistic children do) and they had been shopping for my birthday/Christmas presents (its my birthday on 23rd December and last time we were in Disney they got my presents, looks as though they have started a tradition:d:). We had quite a wait here which turned out to be quite a lot of fun. The seaters were coming out and shouting for "****,party of 4" etc as they do! They were having to shout time and again before people responded until in the end this chap with a really loud voice started shouting for them. "Will the **** family, party of 4 please go to your table, I'm wanting my lunch". This happened with quite a few families before the said chap disappeared for his lunch. Turns out he was a retired teacher, made everyone laugh! We were eventually seated, which was such a relief as it was baking hot outside, Piglet and Eeyore arrived at our table even before we had placed our drinks order. The others came around later.

We like it here, Ashley specifically asked to go to Chef Mickey's and Crystal Palace so we obliged. The boys were given permission to go off on their own but Glen asked if they could make their way back to the hotel, we said we'd meet back in the room by 3.30pm and we went our separate ways again.

We caught this show (one of John's favourites)

Went over to Mickey's Toontown Fair area.

Time on our own was going really quickly so thought we'd better make our way out of the park before we got stuck in the crowds watching the parade, we walked down the centre of Main Street and asked the photopass photographer to take our picture, with all those people sitting on the kerbs he told us to hold up our arms. We had no idea what was going to be on the picture, he said 'nothing, just wanted to make you look silly!!!!' Ah well, no one knew us.

We just got to the end of the street as the parade was starting, I wanted to watch it but John quite rightly said that if we were not back on time its not setting the kids a good example of responsibility!
Ah, I had to be a grown up in Disney, that's not good!!!!! The boys had beaten us back and were playing on their PSP's, surprise, surprise, that's what they wanted to go back for. Had a surprise when we got back, our first towel animal for this holiday.

Had a little rest before making our way over to Typhoon Lagoon for the evening.

John and I went on one slide the boys on another, the photopass photographer on our slide was too busy talking to someone to get a pic of us, but it probably wouldn't have been very flattering!

The boys love the wave pool, we left them to it and sat down with a coffee while they played until the waves switched off at 8pm promptly. We left the park and waited for what seemed like forever for a bus, must have seen about 3 busses for AKL but as we weren't staying there anymore had to watch them go by until ours eventually turned up with then a long ride via Contemporary, John got talking to a lovely chap about cameras with the kids and I rolling our eyes at each other, once he starts talking about his hobbies he doesn't shut up. We showered very quickly before heading down grabbing a coffee and going and sitting on the beach to watch Wishes, bliss.

Love the color coordinated pictures of you and John at MK. Did you plan that ahead of time? The silly one with the balloons was a fun photo, also.

So, you didn't say. How was the Tonga Toast?

Another good day and some great pic. I have never seen that addition to a Main Street photo before - I might have to ask for the one when we go :thumbsup2

Another wonderful day. Makes me really wish that I didn't have to wait until 2014 until I go back to WDW :(

I'm up way before John and just grab whatever comes out of the wardrobe first, he's likewise so it was just luck we matched:rotfl2:

The tonga toast was very nice but a bit too sweet for me, glad I've tried it but probably won't have it again.

ah! Tonga Toast!

Sounds like a great day!

I've wondered if you'd been reading this thread, Sharon. Knew that once the Simpsons moved to the Polynesian you wouldn't be able to resist replying. You have seen Wendy's lovely Poly resort photo thread, haven't you?

Wendy, glad you and John got a little time sans kids--and I'll bet the kids enjoyed it, too.

I love the balloon pic on Main St, that must be a new one they are doing now. :thumbsup2

I can't wait to watch Wishes from the Poly beach - Bliss! :cloud9:

Never thought about trying a water park in the evening. Was it particulary busy?

Well it was a good sign that lots of people were leaving as we were going in!!!! Had a bit of a queue for the family raft ride but the wave pool wasn't too bad and Crush n Gusher was a walk on (can't remember what else we went on :confused3), it quietened down as the evening progressed. One problem was the bus took forever to pick us up at closing time.
