Monday 27th July 2009
Packed up ready for the move to the Polynesian, called bell hop to take the luggage, they arrived a couple of minutes later, really prompt service. We spent the morning at Hollywood Studios, Glen and I made our way to Tower of Terror while John and Ash went to get fastpasses for Toy Story Mania.
We're on the front row on the left, I'm holding the camera up trying to video it so John can see what the ride is like(I think I was probably unsuccessful as I've not yet seen the result, he's probably deleted it!!!)
Met up to carry on looking around.
The plan today had been to go to DTD and eat lunch at T Rex but there was too much we still wanted to do in the parks so as we passed Sci Fi called in to see if they had any reservations, we were told we could eat at 11am,a bit early but we hadn't had any breakfast so we took it. We sat at a normal table, we had previously eaten here in one of the cars so were happy with the table.
The meal coincided with our fastpass times for Toy Story so I double checked with the CM who told us they will accept late arrivals for fastpasses but not early arrivals so we would be fine taking our time over our meal.
I don't wish to brag but I GOT THE HIGHEST SCORE on Toy Story
I think it was 55,000 the others got between 7,000 and 30,000. Decided to make our way to Poly now via the boat to Yacht Club, walk through Epcot to the monorail. We wanted to go and have a look at where we stayed last time as it was such a magical time for us.
On to the Poly, I'm just going to post a few photos of our arrival and our room and leave the rest to a separate thread, there's just too many of the resort!!!
My friend Jean had sent us another envelope with some goodies in including this wonderful confetti, hope you can make out the palm trees and luau letters.
After unpacking and a quick look around (including the arcade for Ashley) we made our way to MK via the monorail.
We got a fastpass for Splash Mountain for 10.25-11 (seemed odd times but 11pm was park close). Went on Haunted Mansion which was a walk on and then made our way over to the Wishes dessert buffet. Was just about at the end of the queue, we were let in about 8.55 but as the tables had been pre allocated we were OK, 2nd row back, there was a lovely little table card saying 'welcome Simpson Family' and little gold castle confetti. There was a mad dash for the food and drinks so joined the throng as Spectromagic was on its way and I wanted to be sitting back down when it went in front of the castle.
We were told it was standing room only near the railings, people started to make their way there about 9.30, which personally I found rather silly, we had a very good view seated where we were and I'm sure plenty of other people must have had a similar good view looking at the way the tables were placed. The whole idea of the party is to relax and not have to queue for a spot, anyway Tink flew right over us and she waved down at us, face on to the castle is obviously the best spot but this was a lovely way to spend an hour or so watching in a reasonably relaxed environment.
After the fireworks we went and had our ride on Splash Mountain and walked back through the park. Bed by midnight. Must just make a note about the Polynesian room safe, it was locked by PIN which I much preferred to the AK method of carrying a key around.
