Up at 6.30am and ready to catch the bus to AK by 7.20 for our Tusker House breakfast. Very quick journey from AKL to the park. I was a woman on a mission this morning, I had forgotten to ask for the park tickets to be added onto our room key when checking in so nipped down to the desk last night to ask them to do it.
The desk clerk said they could only put 10 day tickets onto the room keys not the 14 day ones we had and to ask at park guest services so that was the first place I headed to. Received no joy there either, she said guest service couldn't do it either! Entered the park and guided towards the restaurant appetites at the ready.
This is Glen's healthy breakfast, not mine, the sugar rush kept him energised all morning
Thanks to the lady at the next table we have a photo of us all with Donald.
Left there after meeting all the characters, got a fastpass for the safari at 10am. Made our way over to Lion King show which must have started very early in the day as we did it before the safari!
Back to the safari where there were very few animals on view so took a pic of the truck behind us!
Rode the train at Rafiki's Planet Watch but were not in the mood for some education time so stayed on it for the ride back again - not impressed. Had a browse in some shops.
Met our 1st photopass photographer so made use of him.
Went back to the hotel to spend the afternoon in the pool. Called in the hotel shop first where they sold larger containers of milk (for the cereal we had in our room). I later found out (when we moved to the Poly and couldn't get this size milk) because AK has villas they have a selection of food items but I can't understand why the lodge shop sold this when the villas are located at a different place.
Ashley having fun playing basketball in the pool.
The viewing area we had from our room also backed onto the pool area so went to see if we could see our room, Glen had gone back to the room so we sent him a text to wave a towel at us.
There was the photopass photographer walking around the pool, he is there to do the family portrait sessions but often has spare time so he wanders around the resort. I asked him to take a family photo of us in the water which he did and told us to go into the lobby about 4.30 where they set up the portrait sessions and if he is free would take one of us.
