we are arriving next week and i REALLY want to do the simpsons ride

but i always chicken out at the last minute!

can anyone help me?? i can do spiderman-no problem -mib makes me ill.

at disney i can do star tours no problem but i hate being confined like that!

can you just close your eyes on the simpsons and be ok? are you confined in a

small space?

thanks for any help!

If yoy can do Spiderman and Star Tours you should be ok with Simpsons.:thumbsup2

You are in a simulator cart in front of a huge sphere screen.

Oh you should have no problem at all if you can do Star Tours. There really isn't the same feeling of claustrophobia. It still makes me very sick though, especially in the back seat.

if you ever rode "back to the future", you can do the simpsons.

same concept.

i get a kick out of homer and bart's statements on the ride.

totally agree with the others, If you can do Spiderman and ST then you will be fine and love the ride.:woohoo:

I did star tours and was find I did back to the future and was sick all day but I want to do the Simpsons too :confused3 not sure it will be worth it to be sick but I heard Simpsons wasent as rough as back to the future. My DH and DD rode it and they were fine but they are roller coaster freaks and I am the bench warmer who eats Ice cream cones :rotfl:

Back to the future was a little rougher than Simpsons. But you have to remember that the Simpsons is Back to the Future with new paint, new theme, and new movie to watch.:thumbsup2

I am the BIGGEST "ride baby" there is (Come on, Dumbo in the Magic Kingdom scares me) and The Simpsons is one of my favorite rides EVER.

It seems to be the theme of this thread but again, if you can handle (and enjoy) Spider-Man and Star Tours, you can conquer The Simpsons. :goodvibes

Truthfully, once you're seated in The Simpsons, a Team Member will ask if anyone feels claustrophobic. Spacewise, it's not bad at all. There are four to a seat. My daughter (12) sometimes suffers from claustrophobia and The Simpsons is one of her favorite rides, too.

You can close your eyes, but you'll miss all of the fun stuff! Let us know how you make out.

Ask to sit in the front. I find without other people's heads in front of you it is better.

thanks for all the replies everyone!

never did "back to the future" - my husband (6'4")hated it and scared me off it.

he loves the simpsons and says i can do it.

i have claustrophobia - trapped in elevator years ago - during a power outage in NYC- long story! - but now i HATE enclosed spaces!

also hate spinning! i don't do Dumbo either! had an anyurism years ago and last thing i remember was spinning before i passed out. i can handle the spin in Spiderman by just closing my eyes and knowing it is over fast because i love the rest of the ride!

i realize this is all in my head(but try telling my head that:sad2:

one more question - i loved jimmy neutron- is simpsons as rough as that?

thanks again everyone!

I don't find it rough at all. I've only ridden it twice. Once in the front seat when I was perfectly fine and once in the back that made me ill. After that second experience I didn't ride it again.

There isn't really any spinning. There are some accurate videos on Youtube that may help if you don't mind it being spoiled.

Hmm...maybe we were separated at birth.:rolleyes1

Big bench warming, treat eating, (while DH and DD ride the roller coasters) mom here too. I also remember riding back to the future and getting sick so I'm not sure if I'll try Simpsons or not. It depends on how the day is going I guess.

wow my twin ;)
Its weird I can spin myself silly on the tea cups but put me in a ride simulator and its not pretty. never actualy gotten sick put did the prayer thing Dear God please let me live please dont let me vomit on this ride and pray my poor husband will live thru me screaming cussing and squeezing the life outta him till this ride stops ~Amen~
And this is why I am a bench warmer :rotfl:

i love the simpsons ride.

sit in the front.
try to sit on the outside by the door.

that will help the claustrophobic-ism.

if you start to get dizzy, look at your feet but listen to what the characters are saying.
if you concentrate on the characters voices, it might help over come any dizzyness.

BTTF is(was) the greatest ride of all time! I  the ride/movies/game.

To combat the claustrophobia part, specifically ask the person who asks "how many" that you want to sit in the front. Sit in the front and in the middle and you'll have the most "openness" (similar to sitting in the front-middle of Spider-Man).

The ride is not as rough as Jimmy Neutron, especially no chicken dance of doom at the end! There is only one "Spin" effect, during the whale sequence. It only lasts for about 2 seconds. If anything, check youtube for ride videos and you'll see what I mean.

just wanted to update and thank everyone who answered...i rode

:banana::banana: Awesome! I'm so happy that you rode and loved it!

Nothing else I ride scares me all that much but the up and downs of the movie scare me. The ride itself is fine.
