Simply Segway Tour - worth doing or will we be disappointed?

Because of the cost of doing the full 2 hour Segway tour I'm wondering if we would enjoy just the one hour Simply Segway tour. Will we be disappointed we didn't do the longer one? I'm taking my DD16 and her friend for Spring Break to WDW and thought this might be a fun surprise.

Would love to hear any reviews of both. It's hard to justify over $200 for three of us (with a discount) when we could do the other for about $90 total. If you have done the 2 hour tour was it worth the $$$? If you did the Simply Segway was it enough?

Thanks for any advice! :goodvibes

We did the 2 hour segway this past 10/3 and had we only done the one hour, THAT would have been disappointing. After the first hour, you're so comfortable with the segway and using those new "skills" out IN Epcot was so much fun!
So to get really good at it and then be told your time is up, that'd be a drag.

The segway was the best part of our trip. I couldn't imagine not doing it ever again.

Good luck with your decision and have a great trip!

Sandy

I've never done the Simply Segway tour, but I've done the two hour tour twice and will do it again once the new models are available.

The "Simply" tour is instruction, practice and then a ride around the inside perimeter of the building. Yawn...

If you can't justify spending the money for the real tour, save your money and don't bother with the "Simply" experience. You can ride a Segway between 1 and 7 everyday right beside the big fire truck. You don't get much time at all, but it's free!

Exactly! I'd rather do no segway than the 1 hour segway....but maybe I'm just spoiled like that. lol

We did the Simply Segway tour and at the end of the hour wanted MORE! So, on our next visit, we tried the 2 hour World Showcase tour. A great experience and well worth the extra money. Seeing the World Showcase completely empty (except for park service people and CMs) was a great opportunity. Hope you can choose the longer version. Have a blast! - Sorry - just skimmed the post - you already had the discount under control.

We will go for the two hour tour! I think we will all love it and it will be a great end to our trip as I plan on scheduling it for the last day! I always try to schedule one big event - usually it's Cirque but we've seen it 3 times already. Thanks for the great advice everyone :)

Oh hey, just saw you're from MN! Me too! :) We're in Bloomington.

Anyway, I really don't think you'll regret doing the 2 hour tour. Like the other poster said, riding through Epcot before the area opens (if you do the 8:30 tour like we did) gives you a sense of entitlement. lol
And then when you're riding back to the main building and there are guests watching and ooh'ing and aah'ing, that's fun too.

Yay! I'm excited for you. Have fun!

You've got to make reservations in advance. It books up pretty quickly. I would try to make a ressie as soon as the window opens. Not sure how far in advance you can do it (maybe 90 days).

Hi to another Minnesotan - wow 3 of us! (We're from Minnetonka)

Here's the site from The Dis
http://www.wdwinfo.com/wdwinfo/tours.htm

Scroll down and the phone number is posted. Just call and they will check on availability. You must be able to do reservations several months in advance as I could already make them for April 4th. You do have to pay for it at the time of booking but can cancel up to 48 hours in advance.

Book the longer tour! My teenage son and two of his friends did it during Spring Break...they loved every minute of it! We got a DVC discount, still not cheap but definitely the highlight of their trip (and my husband and I had fun watching!)

BF & I did this last minute in Sept...we had a good time...We got to do some instructional stuff, laps around the area and then our guide took us to a roped off area in the park...So, we went much further then just around the building. LIke I said we werent planning on doing this...we did the trail run one day and loved it...they didnt have any 2 hour tours left the next day...but it filled our need/want and we are planning on going back to do the 2 hour tour next time we go!

Any negative Segway reviews....?

In all of the threads I've read on Segways, I have never encountered a negative Segway tour.

We did the longer one and loved it.

Definitely do the longer tour - even then you'll still want to keep riding that Segway - it's such a unique experience and lots of fun! :thumbsup2

FWIW, you can get a discount with AAA. I totally agree with prev posters - we did the long tour and would have been disapointed to just learn how to ride w/o a chance to get out there and really play. The tour was lots of fun.

We are doing the 2 hr tour in Dec and REALLY looking forward to it~

Definately do the two hour tour. It was the funnest thing I have ever done at WDW! I can't wait for the all-terrain tours to start. Call 407-939-8687 to book it. DVC members also get a discount.
