I was about to jump on this deal too, but it felt a little off. I did some checking and some reviews were REALLY BAD. Huge delays in shipping it and it comes from overseas. People were saying that they had to go to the post office and pay like $50 in duty to get their stuff.

"What a mistake! I received a catalog in the mail stating that Simply Be is "now in the US." Great, never heard of them but the clothes in the catalog looked fantastic. They were a little pricey but I thought I'd treat myself to a couple of pieces.

Free shipping, you say? Fantastic! 20% new orders? Even better! The only thing they left out is the international finance charge that will hit your credit card along with the duty you have to pay at the post office. I ordered four items (~$200 with discount) and paid almost $50 in duty and international financing charges. Are you kidding me?!

When I finally picked up my package (after shelling out the duty at the post office) I took it home to hope it was all worth the trouble. I was wrong, wrong, wrong, wrong! The clothes looked awful compared to how they looked in the catalog. The material was flimsy. Out of four pieces, I only kept a poncho.

Horribly disappointed. For all of the money I spent (and duty money I'll never get back) I expected WAY more. The company also needs to be more upfront about the duty charge. I found it buried in their website.

My message to Simply Be? Go back to where you came from!"

I shop a lot of plus size sites, I follow a ton of plus size fashion blogs and have heard mixed reviews about Simply Be. i don't really enjoy anything they have up so i won't be ordering but like the previous poster said, do some homework first to see if the duty charge is legit. that would be crazy expensive.

They also have some men's things. I was able to get my husband a set of 2 belts (Item no. at672hx2) and a set of 2 pajama bottoms (Item no. ia969hx3) for $2.00 plus $8.99 shipping - $10.99 - a steal!

I normally do not do deals like this but he really needed belts and pj bottoms!

Simply Be is a British company and not a very popular one. The general image we get is that the clothing is not good quality. Some friends tried it and disliked their clothes- they were apparently flimsy and thin.

I certainly wouldn't pay the outrageous shipping fees to get the order to the US. it isn't really worth it when you have so many great retailers in your country.

i had some problems placing the order i contacted my credit card company the problem seems to be i had a overseas block on my card i understand how this goes since i work for dyson in the US but vacuums ship from the UK it happens quite a bit with debit cards especially

I just tried to cancel my order. You have to call by phone they can not do anything online. When I spoke to a person they said their call center is in Florida and they take the cancelation request anf then send it over to the UK. She did not say how they send it. She did stress that this is only a request and they can not guarantee that the order will be canceled. If it is not canceled then I still have to pay customs but can call them and they will pay for me to ship the item back to the UK. I would would strongly say no one else should oreder from this company.

Duties won't be due on the $1 you paid, duties are due on the value of the items. So if your item is valued at $100 that is what you will pay duties on. Just so you know.

I agree with the iffy quality from them. I'd put the stuff I've gotten on par with Fashion Bug or Old Navy, not even Lane Bryant level. But I haven't had problems with my orders (2) other than an out-of-stock delay that wasn't apparent at check-out, and with a good enough discount I think they're a decent option for trendy pieces where durability isn't likely to be a big issue or if, like me, you're losing weight and just need a few things to "get by" to the next size down. I'd never pay their full prices and I wouldn't look to them for building an everyday wardrobe, but neither would I avoid shopping them in the future.
