The following decorating ideas are simple, but lovely.
Ribbon-tied Chairs
For an added festive touch, tie red satin ribbon around your dining room chairs and accent with a fresh sprig of pine and pine cones.
Candlelight Centrepiece
Dress three Pillar candles of varying heights with one piece of ribbon. Tie ribbon in a bow approximately once inch from the top of the candle. Group candles on a large platter and surround with seasonal greenery and decorative holiday balls.
Felt Tree Ornaments
Stencil simple, cookie-cutter shapes such as trees, hearts, stars or gingerbread men onto felt and cut out. Cut a second, slightly larger shape in a complementary colour, and hot glue together. Trim with colourful embroidery floss, or stud with cross-stitch stars. To hang, add an embroidery floss loop to the top of each felt ornament.
Floating Cranberries
Make a stunning centrepiece for your table by simply filling three cylinder vases 2/3 full with water. Add fresh cranberries to each vase, and top with a floating candle.
Napkin Rings
Bundle up thick and cosy red cotton flannel (which you can cut and sew yourself) with decorative pinecones epoxy-glued to twigs. Tie to secure with raffia, than lay in a rustic wooden tray for presentation at the buffet table.
Holly Centrepiece
Select one of your favourite vases. Line inside of vase with large green leaves. Fill vase with holly clippings, leaving enough stem to spill out over the top of vase. Carefully top vase with water.
When you're finished your decorating, relax, sip on the following, and admire your handiwork!
The Holiday Sparkle
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, add 1/2 oz Stoli Razberi, 1/2 oz McGuinness triple sec and 1/2 oz white cranberry juice. Stir until chilled and strain into a Martini glass. Top with 3/4 oz Mumm Cordon Rouge Champagne and garnish with three fresh raspberries.
Trust me, it's delicious!!!
