Well, little DS (I can't tell you how it thrills me to be able to say I have a DS) is already on formula, for a zillion reasons. We hadn't planned on this, so I haven't figured out any discounts, coupons, etc. yet. Any advice? It seems I can get tons of samples for enfamil, but not similac! Where do I get samples, coupons, etc? I did sign up on their website, but haven't found anything there yet.

Thanks for any advice!!

When my DS was born, Enfamil was the best for samples and coupons. Every once in a while, Similac would send something.

If you don't have any need to stay on the name brand stuff though, look into the BJs/Sam's Club generic stuff. I checked the ingredient and nutrition info for Enfamil and BJs brand, and they were identical. The only difference was the price, and trust me, it was a HUGE difference.

Congrats, by the way:)

i used the more expensive formulas for the first month or so with my daughter because she couldn't BF and switched to the sams club formula the sensitive stomach one, she did so much better on the sams, it was WAY cheaper and it had all the same and in some cases more nutrients. it will save you about 1000$ in a year if you use sams or costco type formulas and your not hurting your little one in any way!

I wouldn't be suprised if the costco/sam's brands are made by one of the major manufacturers and they just slap a different label on the can.
I buy costco, unless I get a good deal stacking coupons at publix.

Hi, my new grandson is on Similac also. My daughter signed up on their website and she receives coupons on a regular basis. I know that this weeks coupon circulars will have a $2 coupon on Similac. She has also found them on eBay too.

I second using the generic brands. I used Enfamil for both my DS and DD. When my youngest DD came along I started out her out on Enfamil as well but heard good things about Target brand and decided to give it a shot. It was exactly the same - she did great on it and it was 1/2 the price of Enfamil. I so wish I would have done that 2 kids earlier.

Have you thought about Kirkland bran from Coscto? It's got the same ingredients as Similac and is half the price. 2 huge cans for the same price as 1 can of Similac. Talk to your Ped they will likely tell you the same.

My friend's DS took the Target brand really well. DD I lucked out with, she happily ate whichever brand I had a formula check or coupon for.

I agree though-- Enfamil was the best when it came to samples, etc. Similac... not so much. I'd get a formula check here and there.
