Hello!

We made a reservation for my daughter in May to go to Simba's Cubhouse. She will be 3 and a half and met all the requirements. She is very social and not shy. I suppose I am just a little worried because she is at the bottom of the required age group and the cast member on the phone told me she has to be able to play for herself and not need help, and I was thinking it was a more structured/organized type thing. Just looking for other's experiences with bringing young children to one of the clubs. Thanks!

I had the same worry last year when we did the Neverland Club. We sent them for 2 hours while we had dinner. My DDs were 3 1/2 and 5 1/2 at the time, and I worried about my 3 1/2 year old. Well, don't worry...they had a blast. The cast members were great with them. They played organized games (it was hard to drag details out of my 5 1/2 year old, but she did say that they found "find the star" with all the kids). They fed them dinner, and encouraged them to actually eat their food before they had their little cookie dessert. They did a few different crafts including decorating their own crowns and they colored a picture.

Overall it seemed very organized, safe, and fun. It wasn't just a place you dropped them off and they sat around and watched tv...they were very involved with the children and has organized fun for all ages. I wouldn't hesitate to send them again. The cast members are professional and are trained to include children of all ages.

I took my kids to the Neverland Club at the Poly when they were 3 and 5. It wasn't very busy at the time...maybe one or 2 other group of kids there. My 5 yr old was a bit bored, largely due to not enough kids to play with, but my 3 yr old had a good time. They took phenomenal care of my kiddos. During dinner, my 5 yr old lost a duel with some ketchup and got it all over her. They got her a clean shirt to wear and told us to keep it. I honestly wouldn't have cared if we picked her up still wearing her stained shirt but the fact that they went out of the way to get her cleaned up was very nice. When we picked them up, both kids had a huge bag of activities and art work they had done while they were there. I'd say they both had a good time and I was pretty happy with the way they cared for my kiddos.

We have used Simba's quite a bit since we stay at AKV a lot. My DS actually requests it at least once a trip (we go 2x a year). Even when we don't plan on using it, we usually end up dropping him off for a few hours because he enjoys it. He is used to being in daycare and sports activities year round at home though, so I think spending 24/7 with mom and dad for a week he gets a little bit sick of us and wants his own time :confused3

They definitely have structured play and activities pretty much the whole night. It is more like, hey we are doing this do you want to join in. They don't make them all do it though, for instance my DS was in some type of PS3 tournament the one night with some of the boys there so he didn't do any of the crafts but he said he could have if he wanted to. I know the one night they did a treasure hunt, he came home with a little bag of junk. Always lots of arts and crafts. I wouldn't worry about it at all. I have never seen a kid in there not having a good time.
