I know you might all think I am crazy - but does anyone have a picture of the refillable mug? I am a planner addict and would like to see what one looks like for storage purposes and where best to carry it. Also - can you refill your mug at any resort or does it always have to be at your hotel.

Thank you!! :clown:

I don't have a picture, but I can tell you that you can only refill it at your hotel.

Not a silly question at all as I've asked for pics before on here too. I believe it's at your resort only (definitely not in the parks) but have heard different stories. Anxious to know too!

It's good at the resort of purchase only and for your length of stay only.

Each resort mug looks different so you might want to be more specific with your picture request.

Each resort has it own mug design, you are not suppose to use a mug for one resort at another unless they are sister resorts, ie if you stay at one Allstar
resort you can use your mug at any Allstar resort, the same holds true for the Port Orleans Riverside and French Quarter and the Beach Club and Yacht Club.
Most of the resorts have a mug that is slender and will fit in a car cup holder and then also have a mug that is wider. The Poly does not have the slender style only the wider one.

Be prepared to get some nasty replies about using a mug for one resort at another, alot of people get quite righteous about it.

The thing is, there shouldn't be any nasty replies. The OP is asking a question, not saying they are going to do it. But, sadly, you are right.

Hi!
I don't have a picture either but if it helps - I know that our old one from Wilderness Lodge fits in our stroller cup carrier (although my husband bought a big one instead of the smaller one and that one doesn't fit anywhere - it's fat on the bottom).
Annette's site was helpful too! Thanks!

I am so not wanting to do anything that is dishonest - just a simple question because I read on another post that someone was doing it and I wanted to make sure if you could or not. I actually hate when people try to save a buck by doing things dishonest - I work retail (The Disney Store) and know that when people do the dishonest thing it only hurts the honest person in price. I see and get lots of questions on how you can get around paying for things - I always tell Guests that they should do the right thing!

It looks as if we will be staying at the Wilderness Lodge - any pictures of that mug?

Hey flapjack! I work at The Disney Store too...it amazes me what people try to get away with.

One was to save money at the parks, and a cast member at Poly actually told me and my hubby to do this, was to take the cup with us, buy one coke and pour half in the Poly cup. He overheard us talking about how the ice melts so fast in the regular paper cups that you wind up throwing part away. We did it a couple of times during parades or standing in line since you can't take a coke into the rides or shows most of the time. It really helped us since we didn't wind up throwing out as much when we got to the front of the line. We always bought 2 for meals however.

I have seen people taking their resort mugs to the parks and attaching them to back packs/fanny packs with those carabiner thingies. That way, when you have lunch/dinner you can put any soda that you don't finish into your refill. mug and sip on it in the parks. There is a huge soda that you can get with your counter service meals...$2.39 I believe...way too much for me to finish, but if I had had my mug with me, I could have just dumped it into the mug. I can't imagine anyone would have a problem with that.
However...basically, your mug is good for free refills only at the resort you bought it, and for the duration of that trip. There is a statement to this effect on the mugs. Don't get started with those old mugs that are 'grandfathered'...we're talking about new mugs, that are being purchased now!!!

Man! Why is there only a picture of the mug at French Quarter, not Riverside? I have been looking around and asking here for a picture of the Riverside mug for days. I really am just getting excited about my first stay at Riverside and I want to see what my mug will look like.

Stitch1404,

Just wanted to let you know that the mug pictured for POFQ is the same one for POR. Or at least it was in Sept 2005. I bought the skinny one at Riverside Mill and it looks exactly like the one in the picture. In fact I am drinking from it right now. I bring it to work every day filled with ice water. I love it.

ohhh, that would make sense since you are allowed to refill the mugs at Riverside or French Quarter. However, there are different descriptions of the mugs on allearsnet:

Riverside: Yellow & green w/Mickey fishing & Goofy & Donald playing instruments

FQ: White w/purple handle & turquoise lid, Port Orleans Gator Logo

THank you all for the great info. Great link to the mugs and good advice!! Always get good info here!!! :cool1:

Actually I don't think anyone gets righteous about it.

I think what happens is you have legitimate questions being asked, such as the one by the OP. Then you have someone tell them the correct answer based on policy, then you have others that come along after that and instead of leaving well enough alone they :stir: by telling them to ignore policy. That is when the trouble begins. :sad2:

So basically if questions were answered with facts instead of what one can get away with, these discussions would never get locked. :thumbsup2
