We don’t wash things, neither at DVC nor at other timeshares, but there are those who do. Sadly, there have been reports here of obviously soiled items being found in the cabinets - we’d wash those, of course.

If it appears to be clean, it's probably fine, and I don't think I've ever had something in a cabinet that was obviously soiled. But, it's not hard to imagine it happening if a prior guest put something up there by mistake.

That's not the same as I assume it is "sanitary." I understand that the dishwasher is probably not capable of sanitizing dishes the way any commercial kitchen might. It just means I am not worried about whatever might or might not be there.

We rinse as we go to use them. Probably isn't helping much if they're dirty, but it makes me feel better about it.

If my wife washed them they would be spotless.

If her husband handled the cleaning it would be in your best interest to run them through the dishwasher

I put everything in the dishwasher and run it through when we get to the room. There are too many dishes to fit so we do what we can.

but we only stayed one bedroom once. Usually studio is good enough for us

We never have. So far, they have always been clean..well, they have looked it!!
