silver plan room upgrade?

Has anyone ever gotten a room upgrade and been told it ws because you were on the silver or gold plan? Just curious if the "plan" provides any unspoken perks... planning a fall trip and looking forward to enjoying the extras the silver plan will provide!

the reason I ask is it seems to me I read about someone at AKL being upgraded to a small suite when she checked in and when she inquired they said it had somthing to do with her gold plan... she did have concierge already... I'm sure this is the exception and not the rule, but our upcoming visit will be our 3rd in one year to AKL and evin a bump up to deluxe would thrill me...
we usually bring family members that have never done disney as our treat... and so we haven't done concierge yet... someday...anyway looking forward to the silver plan extras as well as small perks that come with dreamaker package

Complimentary upgrades depend on availability and a lot of Disney magic. My DW and I have gone on the Silver Plan a few times. We were upgraded to concierge at BC on one trip ... we didn't book it, didn't ask for it, just upgraded and we never could find out why. That was 1 trip out of many.

You can always ask about upgrades at check-in. I usually ask how much would it cost per night to upgrade to _____ (fill-in what you want). Once at WL, we were upgraded to a better room at no charge. Other times, we paid a nightly cost.

this will be our first silver plan trip and we are so looking forward to it... just can't bring myself to to pay so much more for deluxe... will see what is available at check in and hope for pixie dust! it will be for our 10th anniversary!

The upgrades go sometimes to those paying more for the room per night. With packages it shows a larger amount because many items are included. These are the ones upgraded first - the rest are really Disney Magic.
