Silver Castaway Cay members & 1st timers going on cruise -need advice

I'm taking my daughter's family on their 1st cruise on the Disney Dream out of Port Canaveral. As silver castaway cay members(new to this) I know we can board the ship through a sometimes shorter line. I believe there is a party/reception too??? Help here please. Because we are together (separate rooms) will my daughter's family be able to board/go to anything with us. Is there anything else that happens as Castaway Cay members???

My family is Silver and we traveled with my parents when they went on their first cruise. Because we were able to get checked in online earlier, we got a better PAT although we all arrived at the terminal at the same time (Port Canaveral). Somehow we ended up at desks right next to each other while doing the port check in and my mom asked me several questions while completing the process. When it came time to assign boarding numbers the person helping my parents looked over at the boarding number we were assigned and copied that onto my parents' card (which was awesome!). Obviously there was a fair amount of luck involved but just because you have different PATs doesn't mean you won't be able to board at the same time. This was on Wonder so there weren't nearly as many people in the terminal as there would have been for a Dream or Fantasy cruise which probably also helped us out.

There's no party/reception for Silver members that I'm aware of. To my knowledge that perk starts with Gold.

We traveled with my sister's family who was a first time Disney cruiser this past March. What we did was we went up to the same person at check in at the terminal and they gave us all the same boarding number. Disney is pretty accommodating, just ask and check in together. Link your reservations so that you can board at the same time, and be seated together at dinner.

When we took a cruise with my in-laws, which was their first with Disney, we requested that they board with us. Disney was great and put them in our group. We did have our reservations linked, so they were seated with us for dinner. Enjoy your cruise!

We cruised with some first timers on our West Coast cruise. We all checked in at the same time at the terminal but were given different boarding numbers. We just waited for the latest boarding time of the group and all boarded together. We had our reservations linked and ate together in the MDRs. Having reservations linked has nothing to do with PAT times or boarding numbers.

Actually, this isn't true. There is a members-only Castaway Club line for the boarding process, including silver unless they changed it. However, I have read on the boards that that line can sometimes be even longer than the regular line because there are a lot of repeat cruisers, so it is not always a benefit.

There is a party, but it is only for Gold or Platinum Castaway Club members, so for people with more than 5 cruises.

One way to have everyone on the same "level" would be to re-arrange the staterooms so, that both staterooms have one Castaway Club member in them. So, in your situation that would mean to split up you and your spouse and put one person in your daughter's stateroom and vice versa. You can always arrange it back once you boarded the ship. This way both staterooms will get the 90 day booking window and the gift.
