What is the best way to calculate if the Silver and/or Gold Plans
are actually a good deal? We will be going in Sept with 3 adults and 1 child age 7 and staying one week. Do you actually spend that amount for extras each day? Thanks so much.:smooth:

Figure each wish is worth approximately $35. If you choose what you will use your wishes on and it is worth more than $35 you made out. We had no problem getting our money's worth even on the gold plan. Also, i believe you can use your child's wishes for whatever and pay for their meal if it would be less expensive to do so.

I was wondering if you are limited to using two of your wishes per day?

-DC :)

nope...you can use them however you want.....just remember...whatever you don't use is not refundable or cannot be banked for a future trip

I'm just starting to learn about this silver plan. Mousesavers lists what you can use the wishes on, but it isn't specific in some areas. Can anyone help me?

Specifically, are ALL character breakfasts included? What do they mean by "Disney dinner shows?" (would the Luau be included?) Thanks!

Yes and yes......basically all on-site restaraunts are included with the exception of V&A. Your dinner shows are also included, however they may require more than one wish.......mickey's backyard barbq is not included.

It looks like using these wishes are really tricky.... I am comparing the price of a wish--approx $35.00 adult versus the cash price of a character breakfast for example-- (Is it $25 per wish for a child?) Does a wish also include the gratuity and tax? Can you share a meal that has been ordered with a wish?

Some examples:
CRT Breakfast $19.99-A/$9.99-C. (plus tax and tip)
Princess Breakfast in Epcot Prices $19.99 for adults and $9.99 for children (ages 3-11). (plus tax and tip)
(A Connections Breakfast voucher at $17.70-A, $11.00-C and includes tax and tip would be a better deal than cash or a wish in this case)

Crystal Palace Breakfast A-$15.99/C-$8.99; Lunch A-$17.99/C-$9.29; Dinner A-$21.99/C-$9.99 (plus tax and tip)
(If these prices are still correct, it looks like cash would win here.)

Hoop Dee Do Cost - $49.01 for adults and $24.81 for children 3-11; tax and gratuity included. If this only costs 1 wish, this looks like it would be a good deal.

La Nouba
Ticket Prices ($US)
Category 1
Adults: $82.00 plus tax
Children (3-9 yrs.): $49.00 plus tax.
Category 2
Adults: $72.00 plus tax
Children (3-9 yrs.): $44.00 plus tax. (Note AP holders can get a 25% discount off Cat 2 seats most of this summer).
Cost=2 wishes. This looks like wishes would be a good deal--if you are not a AP holder.

Has anyone studied this in detail to figure out which things are the best value for using a wish? We are staying 7 nights, so that would be a lot of wishes on which to find good deals on! (That is, if we opt to add them our package :) ).

 We are debating whether to stay at CBR at the lower price and do the add on of Silver Plan or to stay at AKL and budget on our own, however it seems with a little/or a lot of planning the Silver or Gold Plan can be a good deal. Especially if you are planning to do the extras anyway. Does that sound correct?

If you go to a menu site and caculate what places you are going to eat at. We did it 2 years ago and it worked really well. Of course you don't use it at a fast food place since it wouldn't be worth it. It includes tax and tip

Can you use a childs wish?

For Example:

If my dh and I were to go out to a dinner that costs two wishes, and we were low on wishes could we use some wishes from my sons card for our meal?

I don't think so. From what I understand, the child wish used for food must be used to order from the childs menu.

Oh, that brings to mind another question. How do we get our wishes? Are they put on our room key electronically or are they certificates? If we are on the wish program and we are eating dinner with others who are not on the wish program, could we pick up the entire check with our wishes (if that is what we wished :) )?

Your wishes are put on your room card like a credit.

You know, I honestly don't know.....but I think you probably could

Can you use a childs wish?

I've read some posts here on the dis that say it was reccommended to pay for their child's meals and use the wishes for adult meals or whatever

We stayed at ASmovies and did the gold plan. We absolutlely loved it....we got our money's worth without doing half of the activities offered.

Does a wish also include the gratuity and tax? Can you share a meal that has been ordered with a wish?

Yes wishes include gratuity and tax...however we alway left a little extra on top of it if our server was good...which they all were. alcohol is not included as part of the plan....so if ordered with the meal....we always tipped separately for that.

My simple tip on wishes .....if the cost of the meal or activities is over $35 ...use your wish.
