I was driving to work this morning and they had a few signs with SILVER ALERT and license plate information. I have never heard of this before. Maybe I'm just out of the loop and everyone else knows about this, but I thought I'd share just in case there are others like me. Sort of like an Amber Alert
This one in NJ was cancelled, so I'm assuming it means that the 87 year old man was found. Apparently he had gone out grocery shopping, has heart problems and was gone for a long time without his medication.
A Silver Alert is a public notification system in the United States to broadcast information about missing persons especially seniors with Alzheimer's Disease, dementia or other mental disabilities in order to aid in their return.
