I have been people's thoughts on the silver plan and reallly want to know if it is worth it?? My husband, myself and our 3 daughters ages 8, 6 and Belle will be turning 1 on our trip are going to wdw in november. We plan on doing 1 big meal a day, usually a character meal. Is this really worth it for the money? please help

Hi, if you go to mousesavers.com & go to wdw packages, they break everything down for you. I tried to figure this out for us also. Its me,dh,&dd,8yrs. old. My husband who spend money like its going out of style on vacation, said it wasn't worth it for us. Its 68.00 per adult per day and 55.00 per child (not sure if they charge for little ones) and we wouldn't be using all the wishes for the tours, golf, and other things they offer. I think its a good deal for the dinner shows, but not for the charecter breakfasts. THey say that the wishes come to about 35.00 per wish, so it wouldn't be worth it to use them on the breakfasts, but maybe the dinners are good. I don't know, the whole thing is soooo confusing to me and it takes so darn long to check out the prices on the menus and figure it all out. I wish someone can figure it out for me(now using a wish for that at 35.00 would be worth it to me.) Now that I didn't help you at all & probably made you more confused, maybe someone can help us both out.

Another way to look at it is this: "pre-paying" (by adding the silver plan) for meals (and golf, spa, etc.) will allow you to do things you wouldn't be able to do if you were counting your pennies while you were actually on your trip. For example, if you had the wishes to use, you might go for more expensive dinners, cirque du soleil and other things. Even though they may not equal the "price" of the wish, the experience is worth it.

It was worth it to us - we're in our early 20s, honeymooned on the Silver Plan, and plan to return in Jan. again on the Silver Plan. We used all of our wishes for meals - trying to milk our wishes;-) We never would have been able to justify eating at so many sit-down restaurants and having appetizer, entree, dessert, and cold/hot beverages!! It was fun to see how much $ we could spend for each wish, and at many restaurants you could add lobster tail to your entree if you wanted it. It isn't really worth it to use wishes on character breakfasts - we did on our last trip, but will just pay for them this trip - saving wishes for the more expensive restaurants.

I don't think we would use this if we had children, I don't think you could really get your money's worth out of them unless you went on a lot of tours; and I don't think the idea of eating at tons of sit-down restaurants would be very appealing to me when I was 8;-) You can also use wishes for thinks like the water mice or t-shirts, but if each wish is worth $34 (I think) and a t-shirt only costs $20 it doesn't really make sense to use a wish for that.

So for us we saved $ on our last trip if you compared the package versus everything separately. However we probably *lost* money too since we never would have spent that much money on food:-)

Hope this helps a little:-)

I sat down and figured it all out for our upcoming trip with 3 grown children and still couldn't make the silver plan worth it for us. It was a good deal for Cirque du Soliel, but even if we do the dinner shows, that means we would have to eat a character breakfast on the same day. Figure in the time to sit down for a character breakfast and then the time to sit through a dinner show, and we have wasted a good portion of our park time. The price of the park ticket doesn't fluctuate depending on the amount of time you spend there. I just couldn't make it pay for us. Someone else may have a better plan than the one I came up with. If so, I would love to hear about it myself. I might get some ideas!:D

Adult's yes but I would stay away from this plan due to the age of the childern.

Hmmm, not sure what you mean here. What happens is that you get 2 points for every night of the plan. You can use them any day. You could use all the points the first day if you wanted. Just save the points for the expensive items and it can be worth the money. My wife and I like it for the ease of having our most expensive meals already paid for.

I have a ? about the silver plan I've been wondering for a while. Can you book a room and add on the silver plan w/o the UPH. We have APs, so we don't the park tickets. Anybody know the answer to this? Thanks.
