Silly trying to book a week in advance?

Following my other thread, I'm just wondering if trying to book the more "Popular" restaurants with just a week notice would get me laughed at, due to being able to book 180 days in advance.

I wouldn't sweat it. Especially calling over the phone- I would be embarrassed doing that in person.

Here's what I would do:

Me: I know it's a long shot, but I was wondering if you had any cancellations for next Saturday for Le Cellier?
Disney: Nope, I am sorry
Me: Well, thanks for looking, it can't hurt to try!

I would also try asking at my resort Guest Services desk every morning before heading out, and even call on my cell phone from in the park for same-day ADR. What's the harm?

Oh, I agree...you just never know. I imagine there are at least some people who feel better making ADR's, but don't feel like using them come that day.

I hope anyone in this situation calls to cancel so that others, like myself can benefit from their spontaneousness!

OH no way. I have gotten good places like CRT and LeCellier. People cancel last minute all the time.

Don't give up if that is what you have to work with.


How is this for last minute. We want to leave Friday or Saturday night for a quick trip. Won't know until tomorrow or Wednesday if we can make it this weekend due to business reasons. I have no ADR's

It never hurts to ask. I would not even be embarassed to ask in person. In fact, we are going to try for one or two we might want to change while there in two weeks, because we have spent enough time on the phone getting what we have.
