DH just suprised me, "Let's leave tomorrow after we are done packing!" We already got our tickets through Disney Travel and now we need to add a day. I noticed that a 4 day ticket is at most $45 more than then the 3 day ticket, whereas a 1 day park hopper is $101. Can we add a day to our multiday ticket?
 
From my experience they have no problem at guest services. I bought a 2 day back in March and when I got there said what the heck and called guest services and changed them to 3 day. They only charged me the difference of the packages not a single day price. Hope this helps. I would definitely call asap though.
 
Yes, you can upgrade your ticket. Use it FIRST (so that you lock in the highest value on it) then just tell them you want to add one day....you'll be chraged the difference between the value of the ticket you have and the value of the ticket you want.
 

Actually, the ticket you have is worth it's full value towards any higher priced ticket AS LONG AS THE TICKET IS STILL VALID. In other words, if you start with a 3 day ticket Monday morning, use it Monday, use it Tuesday, use it Wednesday -- it is still worth the price of the 3 day ticket up until the park(s) close on Wednesday, so you can add to it -- for instance, the current difference between a 3 day park hopper and a 4 day park hopper adult ticket is $15. In my example, anytime before parks close on Wednesday (third day of using your three day ticket), you can present that still valid ticket to a ticket window, pay $15, and add a day!

Hmmmm, guess we've been lucky every year for the last probably decade or so because we always buy in July to beat the price rise, then use it to get in then upgrade to AP.

Anyway its certainly worth trying because if you upgrade first there's no chance....and if you use first there is no penalty for trying.

Just my thoughts.

That's been my experience as well.

My wife and I took my sister-in-law last month and she had a three-day park-hopper that she purchased at a $20 discount. When she wanted to add a day, the amount they proposed to charge was the difference between the value of the four-day and what she paid, not the difference between value of the four-day and the value of the three-day. This is something we attempted on the third day after the pass had already been activated.
 
How do they know what you paid for the ticket? I mean, especially if you purchased it from a reseller like Last Minute Travel?
